Because they stood out too much, Zhou Luo and Chen Jun followed in a car, confirming the frequent meeting places of Liu Changshui and Xu Yi. That night, Liu Changshui buried money in the forest by the river, unaware that Xu Yi was standing behind him. Xu Yi raised a shovel and killed Liu Changshui, took the money, and disposed of the body in a wild lake.
On the 18th day after the crime, Lin Fang Lu was still organizing the testimonies of Chen Jun and the others. Chen Jun intentionally waited for Zhou Luo to come out of the library and found an excuse to accompany him home, mentioning a film he had recently watched as a way to test his attitude.
