Episode 14 recap: Lu Xiao Lu went to Shanghai to find Bai Lan.
Bai Lan needed to retrieve his own file, but the factory refused to provide it. Lu Xiao Lu went straight to the file room to help Bai Lan get the file, but Ding De Zhong refused. Lu Xiao Lu decided to search for it himself. After several twists and turns, Bai Lan finally arrived in Shanghai. Lu Xiao Lu followed him and was even discovered by the landlady. Lu Xiao Lu had to pretend to be Bai Lan's sick younger brother and leave in a few days.
Bai Lan was successfully admitted, and he thanked Professor Wang for accepting him. However, Professor Wang generously praised Bai Lan and hoped that he would have even greater development in the future. However, the people in Fucheng were not happy. Qin Juan was saddened that Lu Xiao Lu had left, and there was no one to enjoy her cooking every day. Chang Jiao wanted to say something, but Niu Xiao Ying didn't give her a chance. Chang Jiao could only eat Xiao Ying's dishes desperately, hoping to cheer her up. Lu Xiao Lu's mother wasn't feeling well but didn't want to spend money on a check-up. Lu Xiao Lu's father jokingly said he would go and drag Lu Xiao Lu back to comfort his mother.
Finally, Lu Xiao Lu found a job as an electrician, but the employer required certification. Since Lu Xiao Lu was about to leave, the employer realized they were both from Fucheng and decided to help him. Lu Xiao Lu managed to secure a job.
In the evening, Bai Lan told Lu Xiao Lu that his teacher had recommended him for a job at a fashion company. Together, they worked hard to improve their lives in Shanghai.
