Episode 12 recap: Xia Guo decided to break up with Manager Xue.
After Yu Jian's funds came through, he immediately returned the money to Wen Ya, expressing his gratitude and explaining that he wanted to spend more time with Xia Guo during this period. Wen Ya didn't expect Yu Jian to be so considerate, but she still hoped that Yu Jian would treat her as a friend. She told him that if he ever needed someone to vent to, he could contact her anytime.
Upon hearing the neighbor's words, Yu Jian's mother secretly replaced Xia Guo's regular folic acid with a locally popular medicine believed to enhance fertility. Xia Guo was unaware of the switch and continued taking the pills every day. One day, she suddenly experienced severe abdominal pain. Fortunately, she promptly went to the hospital, where the doctor informed her that her medication had been tampered with. If she had continued taking it, she would have definitely miscarried.
Based on Xia Guo's current condition, the doctor advised her to rest and take measures to protect the pregnancy, urging her to avoid strenuous work. Upon hearing the doctor's advice, Yu Jian figured out that his mother was behind the mischief. He rushed to the hospital and scolded his mother harshly. Thinking about Yu Jian and the doctor's words, she felt conflicted.

Xia Guo from Shanghai was also worried because of Li Qiu Man's arrival. During lunchtime, Li Qiu Man deliberately sat at the same table as Xia Guo. Xia Guo tactfully inquired about the situation with Rice Cake's father. She also applied for a job transfer, hoping that Manager Xue would approve it. Xia Guo returned to Leshan and found solace in the mountains. By chance, she encountered Wen Ya and Yu Jian taking wedding photos. She had indescribable feelings in her heart.
In the evening, while having dinner with her friend Ping, Xia Guo received a message from Ai Lun. Ai Lun informed her that he had found a nice apartment for her in Shanghai. The next day, Xia Guo returned to Shanghai to look at the apartment with Ai Lun.
