Episode 6 recap: Confession of a Straight Guy Ba Tai to an Artsy Young Woman
It was a romantic Kazakh wedding with rich ethnic characteristics, and the marriage ceremony was grand. The men engaged in activities like horse racing, wrestling, and playing instruments on the grassland, while the women chatted and enjoyed themselves in the felt yurts, creating a lively atmosphere. Li Wen Xiu tried to find Ba Tai among the crowd but ended up being taken by Tuo Ken into a yurt to try on bridal attire.
At that moment, Chao Ge called Tuo Ken out, and their initially affectionate interactions turned into a small conflict regarding the wedding. On the other hand, several young men entered from outside, and Li Xiu Wen didn't have time to take off the attire, hurriedly turning away as they mistook her for the bride, Nala Bi. To her surprise, she also learned that Ba Tai and Ku Lan were going to discuss marriage and engagement.
After everyone else left, a young man realized that Li Wen Xiu was not the bride but a Han ethnicity girl from a store. He kindly helped her cover up and leave the yurt. Suddenly, a melodious song drifted in from outside, resembling sweet whispers between lovers, like a heavenly melody, yet also like a spell that captivated everyone present involuntarily.
Following the sound, Li Wen Xiu found Ba Tai among the crowd. He was playing the piano with his head lowered, singing slowly, while Ku Lan accompanied him. The pair complemented each other perfectly, and Li Wen Xiu felt a strange sensation in her heart, followed by confusion and a sense of loss. She suddenly realized that Ku Lan's affection was most likely directed towards Ba Tai. All she could do was smile bitterly as she watched the gaze exchanged between the two.
As the performance ended, everyone at the wedding sang and danced. Li Wen Xiu took this opportunity to vent her emotions through dancing and unexpectedly found herself in front of Ba Tai. Ba Tai expressed that he had something important to tell Li Wen Xiu. After saying that, he took her hand and ran towards the woods, giving half an apple to Li Wen Xiu and feeding the other half to a horse named Treading Snow.
Ba Tai revealed to Li Wen Xiu that he planned to take Treading Snow to participate in the horse racing event during the Gulbang Festival. If Treading Snow showed no signs of discomfort on the racetrack, it meant that it had fully recovered. However, upon hearing this news, Li Wen Xiu felt a sense of disappointment and indirectly mentioned their engagement. Ba Tai seemed indifferent, stating that Ku Lan had someone in her heart, and he also had someone he liked. Then, his gaze turned towards Li Wen Xiu.
Sure enough, when Li Wen Xiu heard his words, a shy expression appeared on her face, concealing her inner joy. Little did she know, Ba Tai turned around and went after Treading Snow, leaving her speechless with his straightforward actions.
Due to a misunderstanding by Uncle A Yao, who thought Ku Lan liked Ba Tai, and Ba Tai's victory in the sheep wrestling competition, Mo He Bi Ti and Ba Tai ended up fighting under the influence of alcohol.
Originally, Li Wen Xiu intended to step in and stop the fight, but eventually, like everyone else, she sat on the sidelines and watched the spectacle. Ba Tai and Mo He Bi Ti fought after drinking and drank again after the fight. That's how intense and straightforward men's friendship can be.
Early in the morning, their daughter Na Di La got up to make tea, but unfortunately, Su Li Tan was not at home. As a result, Na Di La accidentally scalded herself with boiling water and burst into tears.
On the other hand, Li Wen Xiu was surprised to see Gao Xiao Liang appearing here and even more surprised to learn that he became her mother's new boyfriend. Zhang Feng Xia believed that he was sent by fate to protect her. After finishing the meal, Li Wen Xiu took Gao Xiao Liang to the pine forest to pick mushrooms. Gao Xiao Liang shared his childhood experiences, which explained his desperate desire to make money.
When he learned that there were jade deposits in the area, he had the idea of making a fortune. However, someone stole the money he intended to use to buy jade, leaving him in a sorry state. Although Na Di La only suffered a scald on her hand, she was still a girl, and everyone was worried that it might leave a scar on her hand. They blamed Su Li Tan for being careless and causing the child's injury.
Su Li Tan had a somewhat traditional mindset and believed that taking care of the child should be the woman's responsibility. As a result, he was rebuked by his sister-in-law. When no one was paying attention, Zhang Feng Xia secretly handed a bullet she had hidden in a tree to Su Li Tan. Unexpectedly, Su Li Tan became furious and suspected that she had reported him for hiding a gun to Uncle Buick. Uncle Buick heard the commotion and came to persuade Su Li Tan, asking him to surrender the hunting gun.
Tuo Ken was heartbroken, holding his daughter, and harbored resentment towards Su Li Tan. He had long wanted to leave with the child. Su Li Tan, also filled with anger, vented it on his son Ba Tai, warning him to give up the idea of marrying Li Wen Xiu. Li Wen Xiu would never stay here to be his herder.
Ba Tai expressed that he would return to the racetrack sooner or later. Su Li Tan couldn't control his anger and picked up the hunting gun, intending to kill Treading Snow. Ba Tai stood in front of the horse to protect it, but his father slapped him, resulting in a fierce confrontation between the father and son.
