Episode 22 recap: Wang Jialuo, also known as Zhuo Bu Fan, seeks new revenge.
After experiencing the incident of Liu Lin being robbed, Mu Qing intends to find a safer and more secure place for her. Lin An Jing spends the night with Wang Jialuo, and the next morning, she fakes her death. At the same time, she remembers the six years ago when she used seduction to steal information but was discovered and cruelly tortured by the other party.
Although Lin An Jing successfully completed her first mission and obtained the desired information, she was ultimately entrusted by Qing Yi Xinfeng to deal with the man and chose to kill him. Since then, Lin An Jing has realized that this world does not allow her to have emotions and that she can hardly experience a moment of freedom. Everything she does is for survival.
Mu Qing sends Liu Lin to Wu Lan Shan as a distant relative and hopes that she can help temporarily settle her down. Zhuo Bu Fan, in Tianjin, investigates and finally finds Zhang San Feng. Seeing Zhang San Feng in a crazy state, Zhuo Bu Fan decides to take him down. Although Zhang San Feng is a skilled martial artist and a descendant of the Shaolin Damo Temple, Zhuo Bu Fan manages to wound and capture him, albeit sustaining injuries himself.
Yu Huanjie tortured Zhang San Feng in an attempt to extract clues, but he gained nothing. When Wang Jialuo learned of Zhuo Bu Fan's whereabouts, he arrived at the broken temple with Ding Yu and others. It turns out that Wang Jialuo's martial arts master since childhood was none other than Zhang San Feng. After Zhuo Bu Fan learned about the relationship between Wang Jialuo and Zhang San Feng, he pointed his sword at Wang Jialuo, revealing his identity as a descendant of Damo. However, Wang Jialuo was unaware of this.
Zhuo Bu Fan threatened Wang Jialuo's life in order to force him to comply. Wang Jialuo had no choice but to convince the Beiyang Army to lower their weapons and let Zhuo Bu Fan and his group leave. Wang Jialuo originally intended to take his master to seek medical attention. In his dying moments, Zhang San Feng struggled to point at the identical tattoo on his and Wang Jialuo's shoulder blades and uttered, "The year Xinhai, sixth day of the fifth month, Baohe Inn, a thirty-year appointment."
After speaking these words, Zhang San Feng passed away from his severe injuries. Wang Jialuo was overwhelmed with grief, buried his master, and vowed to avenge him by taking down Zhuo Bu Fan. Wang Jialuo had never expected to be a descendant of Damo, and when he first met his master, the latter was already in a deranged state. He was unaware of the secret hidden in the Pure Altar. Lin An Jing believed that the words spoken by Zhang San Feng before his death might be a clue. Moreover, Wang Jialuo had the exact same tattoo on his shoulder blade as his master, which could be a mark of their sect.
Although Wang Jialuo didn't know the details of his master's life, since he was his successor, he decided to carry on his master's legacy. Now, with a new grudge added to the old one against Zhuo Bu Fan, he had no choice but to settle the score with him.
