Episode 27 recap: Mu Qing is uncertain about the future.

Wu Lan Shan does not want Mu Qing to call her "Ge Ge" (princess), because if the reforms had succeeded years ago, Mu Qing would not be calling her that today. She asks Mu Qing what he is still guarding for this failed dynasty, aside from the pain it has caused him. Wu Lan Shan's words shock Mu Qing. After Wu Lan Shan leaves, Mu Qing forces Liu Lin to question whether she discussed revolution with Wu Lan Shan in the manor, but Liu Lin denies having any such conversation. Liu Lin says that Wu Lan Shan was just jealous of their relationship, and shared the story of Mu Qing's first love with her, which is how they gradually became acquainted.

Liu Lin also says that Mu Qing is happy about going to Fujian with Wu Lan Shan because Wu Lan Shan still has feelings for him, and doesn't really care about her current husband. Mu Qing chooses to believe Liu Lin, and warns her not to tell anyone about their matters.

Mu Qing goes to pay respects to his teacher Cheng Yu. Reflecting on the words of Jiang Hen, Mo Kun, and Wu Lan Shan, he becomes uncertain about the future. He goes to the tomb of Emperor Guangxu in the rain, unsure whether the imperial power he has been guarding so diligently is truly safeguarding the peace of the Qing dynasty, and perplexed about whether Cun Qing's tireless search for hidden treasures is for the sake of national prosperity.

Cheng Yu had long assisted the reformist party, but is now treated as an enemy by the court. Mu Qing doesn't know if his teacher went astray, or if he himself is still lost. He is completely unsure of how to proceed, and can only weep bitterly at the tomb. Mu Qing's cries attract an elderly man in the graveyard, who takes him inside to dry his clothes. When leaving, Mu Qing unexpectedly discovers the old man has a badge belonging to Luan Yi, a high-ranking imperial guard.

Mu Qing learns that this man was formerly an imperial guard, and that two teams were sent from the Legation to investigate the secret stash - one went to Shanxi and was nearly wiped out, while the other went to Fujian. Luan Yi was the captain of the Fujian team, and discovered an issue with a monk named Wu Shuangbao, but he and another guard got separated from the team, only for the team to vanish without a trace, with only Luan Yi's badge found in an inn.

Mu Qing deduces that Luan Yi's badge was intentionally left at the inn in Quanzhou, and the handwriting on it does not match Luan Yi's.

Mu Qing told the old man that he would soon go to Fujian to investigate the hidden treasure, and that he would come back to inform the old man once he found out who had placed the jade certificate in the inn. Lin Hao Han came to ask Mu Qing when they would set out, and also reminded Mu Qing to keep his promise and give him a share of the treasure when they found it.

Zhuo Bu Fan found the descendant of the lineage holder of the past, and forcefully inquired about the clues to the secret of the Pure Platform. In the past, this person's grandfather had accidentally learned about the secret of the Pure Platform from his teacher's mouth, and driven by greed, killed his elder brother who was supposed to inherit the robe and alms bowl. However, after obtaining the treasure map, he could not decipher it at all and was unable to find the treasure. Later, in order to curry favor with the magistrate, he presented this map to the county administrator. Afterwards, the Grand Secretariat had his grandfather set up a martial arts school, hoping to lure in disciples from the Southern Shaolin Temple. In the 7th year of the Tongzhi reign, the Fourth Generation Disciple of the Dharma Patriarch arrived, and his grandfather secretly informed the Grand Secretariat, while the Dharma Patriarch's disciple also tested and found that his grandfather did not know the password to the secret treasure.

When the people from the Grand Secretariat came, his grandfather was seriously injured and fled. Zhuo Bu Fan discovered that Wang Jia Luo had been eavesdropping at the Xu family's place, but the Xu family found nothing. Zhuo Bu Fan pointed out Wang Jia Luo's location but did not attack him, and instead led the group from Fusing Heavenly Ridge to leave. Mu Qing told Liu Lin about Luan Yi's matter, and now he wants to first investigate Luan Yi's whereabouts, so he decided to go to Fujian with Liu Lin.

Wang Jia Luo knew that the Xu family had driven his teacher to madness for half his life, and although he hated the Xu family, he also knew that they were meritorious officials of the court. He was very conflicted in his heart. In the end, Wang Jia Luo still decided that the group from Fusing Heavenly Ridge were the ones who killed his teacher. Lin An Jing thought that Wang Jia Luo should find the treasure, so that it would not only foil Fusing Heavenly Ridge's plans, but also allow him to serve the court, and make Zhuo Bu Fan despair, which would be true vengeance.

Qing Yi Xin Wind learned that the latest clue was in Zeze Residence in Quanzhou, Fujian, but they could not conveniently dispatch troops there, so she thought they could cooperate with Zhong Hai Chao.
