Episode 3 recap: Mu Qing and Gege used to be lovers.
Mu Qing planned to bring Chen Wu back to the yamen for custody, which scared Chen Wu and made his face pale. Seizing the opportunity, he broke free from the guard and smashed his head against the corner of the table, committing suicide, because he knew that life would be worse than death once he entered the yamen. Mu Qing left with his men but was intercepted by Wang Jialuo. Wang Jialuo accused Mu Qing of killing his case target, but Mu Qing disdainfully stated that the laws of the Qing Dynasty were only made for people like them. Afterwards, Mu Qing left with his men, leaving Wang Jialuo helpless. He discovered that he was being followed, and it turned out to be Lin An Jing. She insisted on investigating the murderer together with Wang Jialuo, so Wang Jialuo, after careful consideration, took her to Tianjin.
Back at the yamen, Mu Qing examined the bodies of the nine people who were killed. Mu Qing wanted to chase after him, but Jiang Hen disappeared. Getai told Mu Qing the secret of the treasure map and explained Cunqing's orders to prevent Prince Qi from seizing the clues to the treasure map. Mu Qing sorted out the complicated situation and decided to go to Shanghai the next day. At that moment, Mu Qing was attracted by a special fragrance emanating from a waiter carrying dishes. After inquiring, he learned that it was given by a female guest upstairs. Mu Qing immediately went upstairs to the guest's room, and inside was the person he had been longing for, Princess Wu Lan Shan, the daughter of Prince Qi.
