Episode 23 recap: The Past of Zhu Li Qi Has Been Exposed
Qiu Shou Yi was worried that if Zhu Li Qi's child was a son, it would affect Qiu Zhi Bin's status as the heir. So he urged Qiu Zhi Bin to quickly marry Ma Xiao Ling, who was pregnant with a boy. Qiu Zhi Bin went to propose to Ma Xiao Ling, and she asked if he only wanted to marry her because of the baby. Qiu Zhi Bin denied this, saying he wanted to marry her because he loved her, and that he wouldn't pressure her, he would wait for her. Ma Xiao Ling was moved by this.
Through investigation, Qiu Shou Yi obtained a photo of Zhu Li Qi in bed with another man from when she was a model. Zhu Li Qi won the "Top 10 Outstanding Young Ladies" award, and proudly showed it to Dai Qi Ting, angering her. That night, Dai Qi Ting's brother called her, saying he had just ordered some premium French oysters but had used the money for another batch. He asked Dai Qi Ting to talk to Qiu Shou Yi about it. Dai Qi Ting agreed and had her brother send the information to Qiu Shou Yi. When Dai Qi Ting checked Qiu Shou Yi's phone, she unexpectedly found Zhu Li Qi's bed photo, shocking her.
On the day Zhu Li Qi was to give a speech as the new foundation chairperson, the screen displayed her bed photo, causing an uproar. Zhu Li Qi hurriedly left, and due to emotional distress, had a miscarriage and fainted. Though she was out of danger at the hospital, the doctors could not save the baby.
Qiu Shou Yi blamed his subordinate, thinking he had released the photo, but the subordinate said the photo was only on Qiu Shou Yi's own phone. Qiu Shou Yi then realized Dai Qi Ting must have done it. He criticized her for damaging the Qiu family's reputation, but Dai Qi Ting defended herself. Qiu Shou Yi warned her that Qiu Shou Ren would not let her off if others found out.
Shao Jia Bi overheard these conversations. After waking up, Zhu Li Qi remained silent, no matter how Qiu Shou Ren comforted her. Qiu Hao Er suspected Dai Qi Ting was behind it, but Qiu Shou Ren said they had no evidence. Qiu Hao Er said the priority now was to prevent further escalation, and had Qiu Zhi Tong look into possible legal action.
Gao Jun still could not find evidence that Qiu Zhi Bin killed Qiu Zhi Lan. Qiu Zhi Tong did not understand why Gao Jun was so certain Qiu Zhi Bin was the culprit. The police officer at the scene tried to mediate between the tense pair, and asked about Gao Cheng, noting his coffee was better than the station's.
Actually, Gao Cheng has been sick and has been staying at home to recuperate. Qiu Shou Ren is worried that Zhu Li Qi will be unhappy if she moves back to the Qiu family house, so he suggests they stay at a different property, but Zhu Li Qi refuses to concede, saying that since Gao Cheng no longer cares about her past, she doesn't need to worry about what others think either. Qiu Shou Ren sees that she has come to terms with this and is quite happy.
It turns out that when Shao Jia Bi visited Zhu Li Qi in the hospital, she inadvertently told her that it was Dai Qi Ting who had harmed Zhu Li Qi, and Zhu Li Qi now hates Dai Qi Ting very much. Qiu Zhi Bin still wants to open a casino, but he is scolded by Qiu Shou Yi.
Qiu Zhi Tong comes to see Qiu Zhi Bin and asks him why he's been discussing details with the other party about the Macau hotel project without first getting approval from the legal department, concerned that problems may arise, but Qiu Zhi Bin doesn't seem to care at all, leading to an argument between them. Zhu Li Qi appears to have come to terms with things and wants to get along well with both Dai Qi Ting and Shao Jia Bi, but Dai Qi Ting seems very uneasy about it.
Qiu Hao Er is forceful at work, leaving Qiu Shou Yi feeling powerless and passive. His confidant advises him to take Qiu Group public and raise investment capital through an IPO, so he won't be constrained by others anymore. Qiu Zhi Tong is temporarily helping Zhu Li Qi handle the company's affairs, and asks Gao Jun for some advice. Gao Jun reviews a video of models dancing, and surprisingly discovers Qiu Zhi Bin burning Qiu Zhi Lan's scarf in the corner of the video.
Gao Jun meets with Qiu Zhi Bin and shows him the video. Qiu Zhi Bin panics, then tries to act calm, saying the video doesn't directly prove he's connected to Qiu Zhi Lan's death. But Gao Jun says he won't let Qiu Zhi Lan's death remain a mystery.
