Episode 2 recap: Mei Yu Shan and Xiao Dou Zi have switched bodies, leading to a series of chaotic situations.
Mei Yu Shan and Xiao Dou Zi fainted in a pit in the courtyard, and through the Moon Spirit Pearl, they have exchanged bodies, but they are unaware of this. Xiao Dou Zi wakes up first, now in Mei Yu Shan's body, and nimbly leaves the garden. There, he sees three old fathers carrying an unconscious woman, and Xiao Dou Zi stands in front of them. The three are surprised, and the female assassin Little Sparrow suddenly appears, demanding that Father Fat Head Yu hand over the Moon Spirit Pearl. Xiao Dou Zi cleverly chases her away.
Just then, the Crown Prince happens to pass by, and the three old fathers, afraid of exposing their identities, push the Xiao Dou Zi disguised as Mei Yu Shan towards the Crown Prince. Xiao Dou Zi sees the jade pendant on the Crown Prince's waist and wants to take it for himself, pretending to trip to try and snatch it. Soon after, the Star Guard appears, ready to investigate the situation.
The Crown Prince asks about Mei Yu Shan's whereabouts during the solar eclipse, suspecting she may have poisoned the wine. Xiao Dou Zi tries to explain, but the Crown Prince doesn't fully believe him. Xiao Dou Zi attempts to take the jade pendant several times, but the Crown Prince evades him. Finally, Xiao Dou Zi falls heavily to the ground, and the Crown Prince wonders why the Regent's Mansion hasn't provided Mei Yu Shan with anti-slip shoes.
When preparing to leave, Xiao Dou Zi insists on explaining the situation to the Crown Prince, and the two end up wrestling on the ground. The Crown Prince is pricked by a rose, and just then, the Star Guard reports the patrol findings. Suddenly, a dart appears out of nowhere, but the Star Guard blocks it, saving the Crown Prince.
Xiao Dou Zi has successfully taken the Crown Prince's jade pendant, but then realizes the Moon Spirit Pearl is missing, guessing it must have fallen on the Crown Prince during their scuffle. Maid Cui Cui comes to protect the garden, and Xiao Dou Zi runs away, only to be caught by Cui Cui and the guards.
Xiao Dou Zi takes Cui Cui hostage and orders the guards to retreat. Seeing Mei Yu Shan's confused state, the guards simply knock Xiao Dou Zi out and take him back to the Regent's Mansion.
Seventeen years ago, Father Fat Head Yu and his two brothers robbed a dart station and brought back a large box, thinking it was full of gold. However, when they opened it, they found a baby inside. Unable to abandon the child, they decided to take care of it and raise it, naming the child Xiao Dou Zi.
Mei Yu Shan wakes up from her unconsciousness to find three disheveled vagrants in front of her, and she angrily drives them away. The three men, thinking Mei Yu Shan was frightened the day before at the museum, believe she is not in her right mind. Meanwhile, Xiao Dou Zi wakes up in the Regent's Mansion, and the maid Cui Cui is already waiting outside to assist him in getting dressed. Xiao Dou Zi, used to coarseness, simply drinks the mouthwash and soap water, leaving the maid perplexed. When Xiao Dou Zi looks in the mirror, he realizes he is now in Mei Yu Shan's appearance. At the same time, Mei Yu Shan also discovers that she has taken on Xiao Dou Zi's form.
Faced with this situation, the two have no choice but to go along with the deception, each fully becoming the other. Nan Gong Yao inquires with the Empress Dowager about the arrangement for Mei Yu Shan to enter the palace for study, and the steward Nan Bei reports that Mei Yu Shan is the top candidate. The next day, Mei Yu Shan, now in Xiao Dou Zi's body, goes to the courtyard to enjoy the cool breeze and helps herself to the prepared refreshments, much to Nan Gong Yao's confusion, as he knows Mei Cheng Xiang's daughter to be well-mannered, but the person before him seems quite different.
After leaving the museum, Xiao Dou Zi secretly returns to the three fathers' residence, asking what exactly happened between him and Mei Yu Shan. Both of them remember the Moon Spirit Pearl.
