Episode 25 recap: Dang Xun Qi personally went to find and kill Zhang Shao Mu.
After Dang Xun Qi went missing, Su Xing visited the school again to meet with Tong Sheng. He analyzed the previous events, believing that if the secret service had abandoned Dang Xun Qi, they must have a backup plan. As a result, Su Xing suspected that the secret service had planted a spy near Tong Jiang Nan, and this spy was likely one of their most trusted people.
Lin Shi Man proactively contacted the Bee King, only to discover that the Bee King was actually Zhang Shao Mu. Upon learning of Lin Shi Man's intentions, Zhang Shao Mu stated that if she wanted to die in place of Dang Xun Qi, that was fine, but Dang Xun Qi would not survive either, as he could not escape the secret service's assassination attempts no matter where he went.
Dang Xun Qi was enraged and questioned why Zhang Shao Mu, who also worked for the secret service, was pushing him so hard. They got into a fight, and Dang Xun Qi ultimately strangled Zhang Shao Mu to death. Now that Dang Xun Qi had lost his usefulness, and was emotionally unstable due to Wu Ya Nv's sacrifice, Lin Shi Man tried hard to persuade him to stay calm. She decided to personally approach the Bee King to plead for leniency, only to discover that the Bee King was Zhang Shao Mu.
Zhang Shao Mu was determined to punish Dang Xun Qi without mercy, and warned Lin Shi Man that even if she was willing to sacrifice herself for Dang Xun Qi, he would still not be spared. He reminded Lin Shi Man that she should be well aware of the secret service's methods.
Lin Shi Man knew that no matter how much she pleaded, it would be of no use. She lied and claimed she did not know Dang Xun Qi's whereabouts. Zhang Shao Mu did not kill Lin Shi Man, but demanded that she report any information she might have. On her way back, Lin Shi Man left a note for Dang Xun Qi, revealing Zhang Shao Mu's true identity.
Meanwhile, Li Wen Bo and the Hong Kong government official analyzed the attack on Dang Xun Qi, suspecting that it was carried out by someone within the secret service. Given Dang Xun Qi's high-level position as a secret service agent with access to a lot of classified information, his current situation was extremely dangerous. Officially, the Hong Kong government was hunting him, while behind the scenes, Zhuang Lao Da was also seeking revenge. Regardless of whose hands Dang Xun Qi fell into, he posed a serious threat to the Kuomintang.
After Dang Xun Qi's disappearance, Su Xing visited the school again and had an in-depth discussion with Tong Sheng about the previous events. Su Xing believed that if the secret service had abandoned Dang Xun Qi, they likely had a backup plan. Therefore, he suspected that the secret service had planted a spy near Tong Jiang Nan, and this spy was probably one of their most trusted individuals.
Dang Xun Qi personally went to the laboratory and angrily questioned Zhang Shao Mu, a fellow member of the confidentiality bureau, as to why he had been relentlessly oppressing him.
Just then, Tong Sheng came in from outside, witnessing the scene of Dang Xun Qi holding a gun aimed at Zhang Shao Mu, frozen in shock and disbelief that the murderer of her mother was right in front of her. Zhang Shao Mu turned around and saw Tong Sheng, concerned that his true identity would be exposed, so he took the opportunity while Dang Xun Qi was off guard to suddenly launch an attack.
The two engaged in a fierce struggle inside the laboratory, and ultimately Zhang Shao Mu strangled Dang Xun Qi to death, then hurriedly urged Tong Sheng to leave quickly. Tong Sheng fled the laboratory in a panic and immediately called Tong Jiang Nan to inform him of the situation.
Soon after, Li Wen Bo led a team to the school, confirmed that Dang Xun Qi was dead, and then proceeded to inquire about the relationship between Tong Sheng and Dang Xun Qi.
Before the conversation could continue, Tong Jiang Nan appeared with his daughter, firmly asserting that Zhang Shao Mu's actions were legitimate self-defense, and Tong Sheng also confirmed that Dang Xun Qi was the murderer of her mother, and Zhang Shao Mu had killed him in order to protect himself.
Although the circumstances were exceptional, the fact remained that Zhang Shao Mu had committed a homicide, so Li Wen Bo had him taken back to the police station. Meanwhile, upon receiving the news, Zhou Ya Ming and the others began analyzing Dang Xun Qi's motivation for going to the laboratory. They were concerned that Dang Xun Qi might pose a threat to Tong Sheng, and they also had doubts about Zhang Shao Mu's true identity.
In the interrogation room, Li Wen Bo dismissed Zhang Shao Mu's defense, believing his reasons for exculpation were too clumsy, and that he had clearly killed Dang Xun Qi for personal reasons, not out of innocence. Therefore, in Li Wen Bo's view, the relationship between Zhang Shao Mu and Dang Xun Qi was not simple, so he immediately rejected Zhang Shao Mu's bail application and questioned how a seemingly weak person could easily strangle an elite special agent of the confidentiality bureau.
After the Tong family father and daughter returned home, they informed Han Yu Rong of Zhang Shao Mu's homicide and decided to do their utmost to rescue him. The next day, Tong Sheng personally went to the police station to plead with Cha Liang Jie to release Zhang Shao Mu. However, Cha Liang Jie stated that until the investigation was complete, he could not grant Tong Sheng's request, but he could arrange for her to visit Zhang Shao Mu.
Ahuei wanted to eliminate Lin Shi Man, but Lin Shi Man said that if she died, there would be no one to find them a boat. In order to complete the task assigned by his superior, Ahuei had to let Lin Shi Man go. Tong Sheng personally visited Zhang Shao Mu, feeling guilty that her family's affairs had implicated him, but Zhang Shao Mu was unconcerned, reminding Tong Sheng to protect the experimental data.
