Episode 27 recap: Tong Jiang Nan reported Li Wen Bo, causing him to be suspended from his position.
However, Zhang Shao Mu has already aroused Su Xing's suspicion. After learning that Zhang Shao Mu was released, Su Xing immediately found Tong Sheng and expressed his belief that Zhang Shao Mu was likely a KMT (Kuomintang) spy. Because Dang Xun Qi was dead, people like A Biao no longer had an organization, so A Hui asked Lin Shi Man to go find A Biao, representing the queen bee to absorb these people.
Su Xing told A Biao that the Security Bureau was likely already suspicious of him, and the most urgent task was to terminate the operation. Li Wen Bo hoped that Tong Jiang Nan would keep a sharp eye on the people around him, and sent police to protect the safety of the Tong family, but Tong Jiang Nan did not believe at all that Zhang Shao Mu was a bad person.
Su Xing reminded Zhang Shao Mu not to think that just because he had deceived Tong Jiang Nan and Tong Sheng, he could deceive everyone. As long as Su Xing was there, he would never allow Zhang Shao Mu to harm anyone in the Tong family. Now that Dang Xun Qi had lost his usefulness, and was also emotionally out of control due to Wu Ya Nan's sacrifice.
Lin Shi Man tried hard to persuade him to remain calm, and decided to personally seek an audience with the queen bee, only to unexpectedly discover that Zhang Shao Mu was the queen bee himself. Zhang Shao Mu was determined to punish Dang Xun Qi severely, without leaving any room for mercy, and warned Lin Shi Man that if she was willing to sacrifice herself for Dang Xun Qi, she was free to do so, but Dang Xun Qi would still not escape death.
He reminded Lin Shi Man that she should be well aware of the methods of the Security Bureau. Lin Shi Man knew that no matter how she pleaded, it would be to no avail, so she lied and claimed that she did not know Dang Xun Qi's whereabouts. Zhang Shao Mu did not kill Lin Shi Man, but instead demanded that she report any clues to him in a timely manner.
On her way back, Lin Shi Man left a note for Dang Xun Qi, revealing Zhang Shao Mu's true identity. At the same time, Li Wen Bo and the Director of the English Department analyzed the attack on Dang Xun Qi, suspecting that it was the work of someone within the Security Bureau. Given that Dang Xun Qi was a senior agent of the Security Bureau and had access to a large amount of classified information, his current situation was extremely dangerous.
Publicly, the Hong Kong British government was issuing a warrant for his arrest; privately, Zhuang Lao Da was also seeking revenge. Therefore, no matter which side Dang Xun Qi fell into, he would pose a serious threat to the Kuomintang. After Dang Xun Qi's disappearance, Su Xing visited the school again and had an in-depth analysis of the previous incident with Tong Sheng.
Su Xing believed that if the Security Bureau had abandoned Dang Xun Qi, they might have a backup pawn. Therefore, he suspected that there might be a spy planted by the Security Bureau among the people close to Tong Jiang Nan, and this spy could be one of the people he trusted the most.
Dang Xun Qi personally went to the laboratory and angrily questioned Zhang Shao Mu, a fellow member of the Confidentiality Bureau, as to why he had been relentlessly persecuting him.
Just then, Tong Sheng came in from outside, witnessed the scene of Dang Xun Qi holding a gun at Zhang Shao Mu, and stood there in shock, unable to believe that the murderer of her mother was right in front of her. When Zhang Shao Mu turned around and saw Tong Sheng, he was worried that his true identity would be exposed, so he took the opportunity, while Dang Xun Qi was off-guard, to suddenly launch an attack.
The two engaged in a fierce struggle in the laboratory, and ultimately Zhang Shao Mu strangled Dang Xun Qi to death, then urged Tong Sheng to leave quickly. Tong Sheng fled the laboratory in a panic and immediately called Tong Jiang Nan to inform him of the situation.
Soon after, Li Wen Bo led a team to the school, confirmed that Dang Xun Qi was dead, and then asked Tong Sheng about her relationship with Dang Xun Qi.
As soon as he finished speaking, Tong Jiang Nan appeared with his daughter, firmly stating that Zhang Shao Mu's actions were legitimate self-defense, and Tong Sheng also confirmed that Dang Xun Qi was the murderer of her mother, and Zhang Shao Mu had accidentally killed Dang Xun Qi while defending himself.
Although the circumstances were exceptional, the fact that Zhang Shao Mu had killed someone was undeniable, so Li Wen Bo took him back to the police station. Meanwhile, Zhou Ya Ming and the others, upon receiving the news, began analyzing Dang Xun Qi's motive for going to the laboratory. They were concerned that Dang Xun Qi might pose a threat to Tong Sheng, and they also had doubts about Zhang Shao Mu's true identity.
In the interrogation room, Li Wen Bo scoffed at Zhang Shao Mu's defense, believing that the exculpatory reasons he fabricated were too clumsy, and that he had clearly killed Dang Xun Qi for personal reasons, not wanting to find an innocent scapegoat. Therefore, in Li Wen Bo's view, the relationship between Zhang Shao Mu and Dang Xun Qi was not simple, so he immediately rejected Zhang Shao Mu's bail application and questioned how a seemingly powerless man could easily strangle an elite special agent of the Confidentiality Bureau, which was hard to believe.
After the Tong family father and daughter went back, they informed Han Yu Rong of Zhang Shao Mu's killing, and resolved to do their utmost to rescue him. The next day, Tong Sheng personally went to the police station and pleaded with Cha Liang Jie to release Zhang Shao Mu. However, Cha Liang Jie stated that until the investigation was completed, he could not grant Tong Sheng's request, but he could arrange for her to see Zhang Shao Mu.
Ahui wanted to eliminate Lin Shi Man immediately, but Lin Shi Man said that if she died, there would be no one to find them a boat. In order to complete the task assigned by his superior, Ahui had to let Lin Shi Man go.
Tong Sheng personally visited Zhang Shao Mu and felt guilty that her family's affairs had implicated him, but Zhang Shao Mu didn't mind at all, reminding Tong Sheng to protect the experimental data.
