Episode 31 recap: Tong Jiang Nan knows Zhang Shao Mu's true identity.

Although Tong Sheng already knows that Zhang Shao Mu is a Kuomintang spy, she agrees not to reveal it publicly to draw out the real mastermind. This is because Tong Jiang Nan still believes Zhang Shao Mu is a good person, and Zhang Shao Mu has someone kidnap Professor He, deliberately leaving clues pointing to Su Xing as the kidnapper, in order to drive a wedge between Tong Jiang Nan and Su Xing.

Sure enough, Tong Jiang Nan believes this and becomes very angry, thinking that Su Xing is threatening him with the life of Professor He. Since Tong Jiang Nan has contacted the Governor, the entire Hong Kong police force is now searching for Su Xing's whereabouts, and even Zhang Shao Mu has sent people to look for him.

Su Xing meets with Zhou Ya Ming and says that Zhang Shao Mu has deceived them for so long, and now it's time for them to play a good trick on Zhang Shao Mu. Tong Jiang Nan waits anxiously at home and sees Tong Sheng returning in a daze, immediately realizing what has happened. Su Xing believes that Chen Xue Wei's life and death will affect Zhang Shao Mu's state of mind, so they now need to create a false trail to make Zhang Shao Mu hesitate and not dare to act rashly. Li Wen Bo also supports Su Xing's idea for this reason.

Since Chen Xue Wei's father is a close friend of the Governor, the Director of the English Division strongly criticizes Cai Chu Sheng, saying that since becoming a detective, he has not done a single thing well, and has only made the situation worse. As a result, the English Division summons Li Wen Bo back, and Li Wen Bo takes the opportunity to arrange for Cai Chu Sheng to guard the tomb in Sha Tin.

Ah Hui disguises himself as a doctor and goes to the hospital to inquire about Chen Xue Wei's condition, but is unable to enter the ward due to police guard. He only knows that the other party is still in a coma. Receiving this news, Zhang Shao Mu becomes flustered, worried that if Chen Xue Wei wakes up, she will expose his identity. He is not sure if Tong Jiang Nan is aware, and plans to go to the Tong family to sound them out.

Subsequently, Zhang Shao Mu visits Zhuang Lao Da again, hoping he will consider the ship matter. Zhuang Lao Da deliberately makes things difficult, and Zhang Shao Mu says he can go alone, and Zhuang Lao Da can send someone to watch him, and deal with him if there is any problem. Hearing this, Zhuang Lao Da thinks they can cooperate, and warns him that if he doesn't pay the money, he will face the consequences.

After receiving Tong Sheng's signal, Su Xing personally comes to the Tong family to see the teacher. Through this incident, Tong Jiang Nan confirms that Zhang Shao Mu is a Kuomintang spy, and while deeply grieved, he also expresses his apologies to Su Xing for his past actions. In the end, the two teacher and student reconcile, and are able to open their hearts and talk. Su Xing suspects that the Bee King is Han Yu Rong, the one closest to Tong Jiang Nan, and gives him a thorough analysis, deciding to play a trick on Zhang Shao Mu.

Under Su Xing's instructions, Tong Jiang Nan took the experimental data that was halfway done and went to see the Governor, with the intention of getting approval to reopen the university laboratory and to remove the police guarding the door, in exchange for personal freedom. At the same time, Li Wen Bo brought Cha Liang Jie to look for Zhang Shao Mu, only to find that Zhang Shao Mu had already fled, and he then ordered a city-wide manhunt.

Worried that the transfer of the democracy activists might encounter accidents, Zhang Shao Mu arranged a plan to kidnap Professor He, in order to frame Su Xing. When facing Han Yu Rong, Tong Jiang Nan remembered Su Xing's reminder, and pretended to reminisce about the past and miss his distant family back in the mainland, successfully finding out that Han Yu Rong was not his cousin.

Soon, Tong Jiang Nan received a note from Zhang Shao Mu, and met him at night, still pretending to believe him. Zhang Shao Mu revealed that a ship would arrive in Hong Kong in two days, and suggested that Tong Jiang Nan gather the democracy activists under the pretext of a birthday celebration, and then leave for the pier when the time came. Tong Jiang Nan said he would fully comply with Zhang's arrangement.

Su Xing visited Manager Huang and agreed on a ship in three days. Professor He was kidnapped on his way, and Ah Hui deliberately revealed that he was acting on Su Xing's orders. At noon, a spy came to the Tong family to deliver a letter, which threatened Tong Jiang Nan to ransom Professor He, written in Su Xing's handwriting. Tong Jiang Nan pretended to be furious and immediately contacted the Governor and the police to rescue the professor.

On the other side, Tong Sheng moved some plants to the balcony, catching the attention of the Communist comrades. Li Wen Bo came to the Tong family to understand the situation and also asked about Tong Jiang Nan's thoughts, but Han Yu Rong expressed herself very actively, insisting that it was Su Xing who had kidnapped Professor He.

Zhang Shao Mu went to the Tong family and coordinated with Han Yu Rong, planning the next day's arrangements. At the same time, Su Xing was also analyzing Zhang Shao Mu's motives, believing that he was likely using Professor He as leverage against them, so they must rescue the professor before the next day. Seeing the city plastered with wanted posters for Su Xing, Zhang Shao Mu hurriedly came to Tong Jiang Nan's house, colluding with Han Yu Rong, trying to deceive the Tong father and daughter and gain their trust, planning to hold a birthday banquet to confuse the British, and find a way to get rid of Su Xing.

That night, Tong Sheng came to see Su Xing and revealed Zhang Shao Mu's plan to him and Wang Da Long, and they promised to ensure Tong Jiang Nan's safety. When everything was ready, Su Xing and Li Wen Bo met, and the two were about to fight side by side, feeling a bit reluctant to part ways in the future.
