Episode 21 recap: Crescent Moon betrayed Yan Zhang Yun and collaborated with Xiao Quan.

Yan Zhang Yun told Uncle Lei that Xiao Quan already knew he was Qin Yan, and Uncle Lei was worried that the Emperor would take action against Qin Yan, after all, it was he who had ordered the death of the Qin family back then. Xiao Quan originally planned to kill Yan Zhang Yun by using the Princess's death, in order to seize power, but unexpectedly Yan Zhang Yun was only demoted from office. To continue with the plan, Xiao Quan decided to target Qin family's old subordinates, forcing Yan Zhang Yun to act, and also had Bai Yi directly eliminate Crescent, so that she would not be able to remember the whereabouts of the jade bracelet, thus keeping the secret buried forever.

Seeing Bai Yi's hesitation, Xiao Quan reminded him that once Crescent regained her memory, Yan Zhang Yun would know about their collusion and the instigation of the Guanyu incident. Bai Yi realized that he had always been used as a pawn by Xiao Quan, and this time he had no choice but to obtain the jade bracelet in order to control Xiao Quan.

Crescent intentionally scattered flower petals on the bed, waiting for Yan Zhang Yun's return. When Yan Zhang Yun entered, he only discussed the case of Princess Jiangyang's death with her. Crescent said she had seen her teacher today, and as she spoke, she walked towards the bed, deliberately drawing Yan Zhang Yun's attention, but Yan Zhang Yun's mind was fully focused on the case.

Seeing that Yan Zhang Yun was a little sleepy, Crescent directly pushed him down, but Yan Zhang Yun simply fell asleep. The next day, when Yan Zhang Yun woke up, he found Crescent sleeping beside him, and he couldn't help but caress her long hair. When Crescent woke up, she explained that she had fallen asleep unintentionally, and just as she was about to leave, Yan Zhang Yun pulled her back, saying that he was happy to see her when he opened his eyes.

Yan Zhang Yun had something he was hiding from Crescent, and he indirectly asked if she would mind if he had secrets. Crescent said that as long as he wasn't hiding any money, everything else would be fine. Just as she finished speaking, her poisoning relapsed, and she fainted. Curly Doctor examined her and found that the poison had already entered her marrow, and if she did not take the antidote soon, she might not have much time left.

Bai Yi specifically brought the antidote, but Yan Zhang Yun did not trust him, and instead proposed a "dead horse as live horse medicine" approach. Afterwards, Bai Yi warned Yan Zhang Yun to let Crescent go, as if she regained her memory, she would kill him. However, Yan Zhang Yun was unwilling to let Crescent go, believing that Bai Yi was the one who posed a threat to her.

Seeing that Yan Zhang Yun had developed genuine feelings for Crescent, Bai Yi said that they were all being manipulated by the scoundrel Xiao Quan, and they needed his antidote every month. Yan Zhang Yun did not believe that they were being coerced, but Bai Yi said that if Crescent did not kill Yan Zhang Yun, she would be killed by Xiao Quan, and moreover, Yan Zhang Yun was already a commoner and had no ability to protect Crescent.

Xiao Quan learned that Bai Yi had secretly met with Yan Zhang Yun, and said that he would counter any move Bai Yi made. Xiao Quan threatened that if there was anything amiss, he would immediately kill Bai Yi and take the opportunity to also kill Yan Zhang Yun. Bai Yi's habit of eating watermelon with spices was accidentally discovered by Yan Zhang Yun, who suspected Bai Yi was the Second Prince of Ning. At night, Yan Zhang Yun went in disguise to test him, and the two recognized each other - it was then that Bai Yi's legs were injured by Qin Yan, leaving him permanently disabled.

Bai Yi was naturally no match for Yan Zhang Yun, and said that if Bai Yi died, there would be no more antidote, and even if Ning Country did not act, the Qin family's influence would make them feared by the Emperor. The next day, Yan Zhang Yun reported to the Emperor that Xiao Quan had admitted to being the killer of the Princess, and Yan was willing to sacrifice himself to draw out Xiao Quan.

Yan Zhang Yun began arranging for Wei Tian Jiao to liquidate his assets, while also setting traps throughout his residence, and instructing Wei to care for the Qiangfei Guard. That night, Yan visited Fuxiao, and found her writing a wish list of things she hoped to do with him in the future.

Chuyue had planned to invite Yan Zhang Yun to her birthday party, but found him being intimate with Fuxiao. Outraged, Chuyue went to Xiao Quan and asked him to act quickly against Fuxiao, but Xiao Quan told Chuyue to sow discord between Yan and Fuxiao first, in order to truly obtain Yan.

Lei Shu scolded his daughter Chuyue for betraying Yan Zhang Yun, but Chuyue said that even in the brothel, her dream had always been to marry Yan. Fuxiao told the Empress that she had never had feelings for the Emperor and had never been pregnant by him, and that Yan Zhang Yun was the one she loved. The Empress was glad to learn the truth and wished them well.

Fuxiao accidentally encountered the sneaky Chuyue and followed her to a courtyard, where she discovered Lei Shu, who was plotting with Chuyue to take revenge on the Qin family by making Yan Zhang Yun fall for Fuxiao. Fuxiao did not believe Yan was Qin Yan, and wanted to find him to prove it.
