Episode 21 recap: Crescent Moon betrayed Yan Zhang Yun and collaborated with Xiao Quan.
Yan Zhang Yun told Uncle Lei that Xiao Quan already knew he was Qin Yan, and Uncle Lei was worried that the Emperor would take action against Qin Yan, after all, it was he who had ordered the death of the Qin family back then. Xiao Quan originally planned to kill Yan Zhang Yun by using the Princess's death, in order to seize power, but unexpectedly Yan Zhang Yun was only demoted from office. To continue with the plan, Xiao Quan decided to target Qin family's old subordinates, forcing Yan Zhang Yun to act, and also had Bai Yi directly eliminate Crescent, so that she would not be able to remember the whereabouts of the jade bracelet, thus keeping the secret buried forever.

Lei Shu scolded his daughter Chuyue for betraying Yan Zhang Yun, but Chuyue said that even in the brothel, her dream had always been to marry Yan. Fuxiao told the Empress that she had never had feelings for the Emperor and had never been pregnant by him, and that Yan Zhang Yun was the one she loved. The Empress was glad to learn the truth and wished them well.
Fuxiao accidentally encountered the sneaky Chuyue and followed her to a courtyard, where she discovered Lei Shu, who was plotting with Chuyue to take revenge on the Qin family by making Yan Zhang Yun fall for Fuxiao. Fuxiao did not believe Yan was Qin Yan, and wanted to find him to prove it.
