Episode 3 recap: Ji Shu Ran was thinking of ways to deal with Jiang Li.

Xue Fang Fei returned to the house, seeing that Tong Er had been brought back, and learned that the Jiang family was about to welcome her back. She hoped that Tong Er would consider carefully and not return to the Jiang family to suffer. Tong Er kneeled down, feeling grateful that Ye Zhen Zhen had once saved her from disaster, and wanted to stay and accompany Xue Fang Fei through their hardships, as long as she could clear Jiang Li's injustice.

Sun Mama was dissatisfied that Jiang Yuan Bai brought Jiang Li back home, feeling that Xiao Heng was being too generous to her. Ji Shu Ran asked Sun Mama to personally welcome Jiang Li, suspecting that this move was Jiang Li's idea, wanting to see if Jiang Li was indeed shrewd, as she felt the incident at the Zhennü Hall was no coincidence.

The next day, Sun Mama waited at the door, and Xue Fang Fei came out accompanied by Tong Er. Sun Mama scrutinized her up and down, almost not recognizing her as Jiang Li, feeling that she resembled her childhood self. Xue Fang Fei deliberately acted angrily, wanting to leave, thinking her parents did not want her to come home.

Sun Mama quickly stopped her and coaxed Jiang Li, making her wear the clothes that Ji Shu Ran had prepared. Xue Fang Fei learned from Tong Er that the old Madam Jiang used to like Jiang Li a lot, but disliked women dressing lavishly. Xue Fang Fei guessed that Ji Shu Ran's intention in sending the clothes was to deliberately upset the old Madam Jiang. She did not put on the new clothes, instead returning to the Jiang house wearing the Zhennü Hall clothes.

Qin Gong, because his son was arrested, went to argue with Xiao Heng, believing he had no evidence to arrest someone, and threatened to go to the Emperor to file a complaint. Xiao Heng believed he had acted according to the rules, and Qin Gong could only find another opportunity.

Wen Ji complained that he had been fooled by Jiang Li, thinking he could get information from her. Xiao Heng gave half of the ceremonial guard to Jiang Yuan Bai to escort Jiang Li back grandly, already suspecting her identity was questionable, and involving a high-ranking official, wanting to use this opportunity to investigate further, and asked Wen Ji to keep a close eye on her.

On her way home, Xue Fang Fei lifted the curtain of the sedan chair, feeling as if she saw her former self. Jiang Yuan Bai rummaged through his belongings to find a welcome gift, not wanting his Jiang family to be spoken ill of. Ji Shu Ran expressed that she had already made arrangements.

As the ceremonial procession approached, everyone was discussing, thinking that Jiang Li must have just been a village woman these past ten years, but the moment she stepped out of the sedan chair, everyone was amazed by her bearing and beauty.

Jiang Yuan Bai found it unbelievable that when he sent Jiang Li away, Jiang Li stubbornly refused to admit her mistake.

Seeing Jiang Li wearing modest clothes and questioning Grandma Sun's incompetence, Grandma Sun shifted the blame to Jiang Li. Xue Fang Fei said the clothes didn't fit. Ji Shu Ran pretended to enthusiastically welcome her, taking Jiang Li to meet the Second and Third Uncles, while Tong Er had already informed Xue Fang Fei.

Uncle Jiang Yuanping proposed a family reunion dinner, but Ji Shu Ran, to prevent Jiang Li from seeing the Grandma, purposely said Jiang Li should rest. Xue Fang Fei mentioned childhood events, and Jiang Yuan Bai was glad to see that Jiang Li was sensible. Ji Shu Ran intentionally took Jiang Li to see the Grandma, who was delighted to see Jiang Li and asked about her life over the past ten years.

Xue Fang Fei did not reveal her own experiences, but learned from Tong Er that the gifts sent by the Grandma were deliberately intercepted. Grandma Sun brought Jiang Bingji, who accused Jiang Li and called her a bad person. The Grandma was very angry, believing the adults had not properly raised the child. Grandma Sun arranged for Jiang Li to stay in Fangfiyuan, where the courtyard was messy and dilapidated, and asked Jiang Li to clean it herself.

Tong Er was dissatisfied, and Xue Fang Fei knew this was just a show of force. She said she would fight to get everything back for Jiang Li. Grandma Sun went back to accuse her, believing this Jiang Li was not the same as the one from the past. Ji Shu Ran was not worried, as she had ways to deal with her, whether she was real or not.

Grandma Sun assigned two maids, Xiang Qiao and Yun Shuang, to "serve" Jiang Li, but in reality to supervise and make her suffer. The two maids came to the courtyard and deliberately did not work, ignoring Tong Er's words and giggling all day. No matter what the two did, Jiang Li endured it, and this news reached Ji Shu Ran's ears.

The Jiang Ruoyao betrothal ceremony was approaching, and Ji Shu Ran intentionally did not let Jiang Li attend, believing that Duke of Ningyuan Zhou Yanbang would come, and fearing it would affect Jiang Li's emotions, since Zhou Yanbang had once been betrothed to Jiang Li before she was sent away, leading to her engagement with Jiang Ruoyao.

Jiang Yuan Bai felt her reasoning was sound and acquiesced to her idea. Xue Fang Fei devised a strategy to deal with the two maids, deliberately using gold and silver jewelry to bribe Xiang Qiao, making Yun Shuang jealous.
