Episode 7 recap: Xu Meng An felt sorry for Li Lin doing courier work.
Xu Meng An saw that it was very late and Li Lin had not yet returned home. She couldn't help but worry, so she went to the logistics point Li Lin had mentioned. There, she found that Li Lin's job was as a manual laborer, carrying heavy packages one after another, sweating profusely but not stopping.
Xu Meng An burst into tears and ran to embrace Li Lin, telling him to come home. A college graduate in engineering had now sunk to the level of a courier courier. Li Lin broke free of Xu Meng An's embrace, understanding that his wife was worried about him, but as a man he couldn't always be a turtle hiding at home. Li Lin now needed to work hard to fulfill his responsibilities as a man.
Xu Meng An wiped her tears and went home. After some thought, she actively called Mei Yi Duo and told her about Li Lin's unemployment, asking if she could help find him a job closer to his profession, and begging her to keep their phone call secret. Mei Yi Duo readily agreed.
Xu Meng An's father saw her come home early in the morning, sitting silently in the yard. When he heard that his grandchild wanted to eat wontons, the old father immediately went to cook them. Eating the wontons her father had cooked gave Xu Meng An strength, and she was about to send the child to school. Her father did not hold her back, but encouraged her to work hard.
Now Xu Meng An really didn't know whether to have a child or not. Her husband had always been good to her, but having a child would seriously affect her work and create financial difficulties. Xu Meng An helped Chen Wan Zhen move house, as Chen Wan Zhen was currently going through a divorce process to avoid contact with Yu Hai.
At Chen Wan Zhen's new small home, Xu Meng An told Chen Wan Zhen that she was pregnant. Chen Wan Zhen advised her to be sure to tell Li Lin. Having a child was not a small matter, and especially since Li Lin and Xu Meng An were so affectionate, this couldn't cause a rift between them. Chen Wan Zhen told her that the reason she and Yu Hai separated was because they couldn't find any happiness in their marriage, and now Yu Hai hardly even spoke to her, nor did he show her any of the warmth and care of a husband.
But Xu Meng An and Li Lin had a solid relationship, so she couldn't hide the pregnancy. Xu Meng An felt Chen Wan Zhen's words made sense, so when she went home, she told her husband. Knowing his wife was pregnant, Li Lin was quite happy about it, but Xu Meng An hadn't planned on it. Li Lin asked his wife to give him a bit more time, as a middle-aged man he especially wanted to have this child.
On the day Chen Wan Zhen was moving, Yu Hai did not know. He returned home, tidied up his own things, and prepared to move out. In the evening, he was at the hotel thinking about his own matters, when suddenly he received a call from the company. It seemed that the president of Yaohua Company was not fully satisfied with Yu Hai's company's contract and was having second thoughts.
Coincidentally, as soon as he hung up the phone, Yu Hai saw the president of Yaohua Company at the hotel. To salvage the deal, Yu Hai proactively approached him.
