Episode 19 recap: Yu Tao and Xie Zhen Yu jointly proposed solutions.

Tao Si Yong stated that the parachute-based landing is actually a deceleration landing, and the deceleration is contradictory to Xie Zhen Yu's proposed high-speed landing, with an extremely high difficulty level. Qin Da Di told everyone that if it doesn't work the first time, do it ten times, until you succeed. Unfortunately, the subsequent test landings did not meet expectations, with the entire team failing to land properly. Geng Jian Lin believed the main reason was the lack of speed.

Now, forget about landing on the center point, even hook engagement is impossible. Geng Jian Lin and others suggested they simply turn off the system and let everyone fly freely. Qin Da Di firmly opposed this, believing that flying freely would result in chaos. However, Yi Zheng Bang said that without entering the restricted area, they wouldn't be able to find a breakthrough. He then ordered Qin Da Di to turn off the system and let the entire team conduct test flights.

Qin Da Di insisted that only through repeated experimentation could they obtain the desired results, and there was no other viable solution. Kang Yan Cheng, Wang Xiao Mao, and others felt they should try various methods, using any promising approach as long as they could achieve accurate landings. But Qin Da Di strongly opposed this, stating that they were a team conducting major technical breakthroughs, not a scattered group that could do as they pleased. Ensuring everyone's safety was the top priority.

Before the test flights, Qin Da Di reminded them that until their proficiency level reached the point where they could safely land with two guiding lights, he would not require them to land precisely in the center of the landing area. However, if they still couldn't achieve this after one or two hundred training sessions, it might be time to consider leaving the test flight team.

When it was time to take off, Qin Da Di designated Yu Tao as the first to fly, and Yu Tao had no objections. However, although Yu Tao's flight performance had improved compared to the previous time, he still failed to enter the center area, resulting in a failed hook engagement.

Next, it was Xie Zhen Yu's turn as the second test pilot, drawing the close attention of everyone, especially Yi Zheng Bang, who had high hopes for him. Xie Zhen Yu was supposed to land, but at the critical moment, he increased the altitude and only later requested permission to land.

Yi Zheng Bang agreed to Xie Zhen Yu's landing request and told him that this was a test flight, so he could boldly explore, with no restricted areas other than dangerous maneuvers. But the next moment, Qin Da Di, in his role as LSO, ordered Xie Zhen Yu to go around and return to the airspace, which contradicted Yi Zheng Bang's intentions, making Yi Zheng Bang very angry and causing him to leave the base immediately by car.

After several attempts, Xie Zhen Yu was unable to successfully land. Before leaving, Yi Zheng Bang called Commander Zhang and asked him to relay a message to Qin Da Di, stating that they should boldly experiment with test flights while ensuring safety, and that if they did not enter the restricted area, how would they find a breakthrough? Clearly, Yi Zheng Bang agreed with Xie Zhen Yu's approach.

For this, Commander Zhang passed on the message to Qin Da Di. It did not sound like a scolding, but more like a praise. Qin Da Di summoned Xie Zhen Yu privately and criticized his performance in today's test flight, questioning him that if he kept flying without decreasing speed, a major accident was inevitable.

After dinner that night, the test flight squadron held a meeting to review the reasons for the inaccurate aircraft landings. Everyone had their own opinions. Geng Jian Lin felt that the lack of speed would definitely affect the aircraft, while Kang Yan Cheng and others suggested turning off the lighting system, which might allow them to fly in a straight line. But Yu Tao suddenly put forth a different view, arguing that the failure of the arresting gear was not the reason for the flight speed issue, but rather the insufficient training was the main cause of the failed landings.

After the meeting, Qin Da Di summoned Yu Tao, Xie Zhen Yu and Geng Jian Lin to his office, announcing that Geng Jian Lin would join the technical research group, while reiterating that this was an exploratory stage, and landing technique was not about practicing suicide crashes from high altitudes.

Qin Da Di asked Geng Jian Lin to share his views, and Geng Jian Lin tacitly agreed with Xie Zhen Yu's opinion, but Qin Da Di was completely unwilling to listen. Privately, Tao Si Yong reminded Qin Da Di that he had an emotional problem - he had called everyone to discuss, but lacked the patience to fully hear the other side's views, turning it into a monologue.

Just as Qin Da Di was losing his temper, Wu Zhao came to inquire about whether the next day's test flight would proceed as scheduled, and Qin Da Di required it to be carried out as usual. In contrast, Yu Tao and Xie Zhen Yu separately researched the exact timing of carrier aircraft landings in the US and Soviet Union to prove their own assumptions.

Early the next morning, Yu Tao and Xie Zhen Yu came to see Tao Si Yong unannounced and reported to him the more effective solutions they had found. Tao Si Yong told Yu Tao and Xie Zhen Yu helplessly that Qin Da Di might not agree, and they could only try to persuade him as much as possible.

Later, Tao Si Yong called in Wu Zhao and learned through him that Qin Da Di, Yu Tao and Xie Zhen Yu all understood the Harrier-style flight, but they were focusing on Kang Yan Cheng instead. In contrast, Qin Da Di led the team to participate in the test flight again, with Xie Zhen Yu recording the landing positions of each pilot, and they had clearly made significant progress compared to the previous results.

But even so, everyone was still gloomy, and in the meeting, they explained that without speed there was no straight-line, and without lights there was no use, and no accurate landings either. Qin Da Di, hearing that Yu Tao and Xie Zhen Yu had already unified their stance, abruptly interrupted their speeches.
