Episode 4 recap: Xie Zhen Yu was absent from the early morning drill upon his arrival at the test flight squadron.

Director Liu, on the orders of the deputy commander, came to the test flight squadron camp to establish a naval aviation medical research center. The center has two main tasks: first, to provide medical and psychological support for the test flight squadron; second, to study the different physiological and psychological phenomena of the test pilots compared to regular pilots, as well as their vital signs in emergency situations, in order to comprehensively prepare for the future training of naval aviators.

The new squadron members were very dissatisfied with the disciplinary rules of the test flight squadron, feeling that they were elite pilots and should not be treated like raw recruits. However, Yu Tao explained the importance of the rules set by Qin Da Di, in order to soothe their emotions. Unfortunately, Xie Zhen Yu was the last to report to the camp and the most disobedient, having missed the morning drill for not reading the disciplinary rules.

Due to the initial establishment of the camp, the facilities and personnel were basic. Wu Qiang reminded everyone to look out for each other, and to check the documents in the bedside cabinets regarding the disciplinary rules to be followed. Flight medical officer Xia Chu, after finishing her work, received a call from her boyfriend Qian Cheng, informing her that she needed to have dinner with his mother that evening.

The psychology assistant Liuonina was eager to report to Xia Chu that she had completed her tasks. Xia Chu told her that once in the test flight squadron, she might not be able to go home for several months, and advised her to mentally prepare.

Commander Zhang brought Director Liu from the Navy General Hospital's aviation medicine department to the test base. They informed Qin Da Di and Tao Si Yong that the navy had decided to establish an experimental test flight research center at the base, with Liu as the director. The center would have two teams: a tracking and filming team to record all test flight activities, and an expert team to conduct specialized research to support the future development and upgrade of carrier-based aircraft and equipment.

Qin Da Di did not understand the purpose of the tracking team, so Director Liu explained the two main tasks of the newly established aviation medical research center: to provide medical and psychological support for the test flight squadron, and to study the unique physiological and psychological phenomena of the test pilots compared to regular pilots, in order to comprehensively prepare for future carrier-based pilot training.

Qin Da Di felt this was unnecessarily complicated, but Director Liu insisted that the one-on-one medical support and research was necessary, and hoped Qin Da Di would set a good example rather than cause trouble. Ultimately, Director Liu stressed that they would proceed with the work regardless of Qin Da Di's cooperation.

Seeing the tense atmosphere, Tao Si Yong quickly mediated and asked Commander Zhang if there were any new instructions. Zhang stated that Liu's research team would send two liaisons to prepare the preliminary work and provide full support as needed.

That evening, Xia Chu accompanied her boyfriend to meet his mother, who pressured her about when she planned to leave the military and get married, as they had been dating for three years.

Xia Chu was at a loss for how to respond, not knowing that Qian Mu actually suggested that she complete this task and then apply for a transfer, so that she could open her own psychological counseling practice and more conveniently take care of her future family. Qian Cheng quickly stepped in to help Xia Chu get out of the situation.

The new team members were very dissatisfied with the discipline rules of the test flight squadron, believing that they were top-gun pilots and shouldn't be treated like new recruits in training. However, Yu Tao considered things from a different perspective and explained to everyone the importance of these rules, persuading his teammates to accept the new discipline. But it was Xie Zhen Yu who was the last to report to the camp, and he was also the most disobedient, as he had not read the discipline rules and missed the morning exercise.

At the test flight squadron's first morning assembly, Xie Zhen Yu's absence caught Qin Da Di's attention, and he ordered Kong Yan Cheng to go to the dormitory to call him. After the exercise, Xie Zhen Yu and Yu Tao got into another heated argument on the drill ground, both making tough remarks and acknowledging that they wanted to have an aerial duel with Qin Da Di, seeing each other as rivals.

Yu Tao returned to the dormitory to take a call from Chen Ya Hong, who told him that she had taken responsibility for delaying the wedding, which touched and saddened him. He promised her a satisfactory wedding after the mission was over. Meanwhile, Qin Da Di had a talk with Xie Zhen Yu, and Xie Zhen Yu admitted his mistake.

Tao Si Yong was still very worried, believing that Xie Zhen Yu was challenging Qin Da Di. In the base cafeteria, the five air force members speculated that there would be a historic battle between the naval and air forces, and they also criticized Xie Zhen Yu. Qin Da Di specifically told everyone that if they had any questions they didn't understand, the political commissar would naturally explain, and they should follow orders even if no explanation was given.

Xia Chu and Liuna also reported to the test flight squadron, and Tao Si Yong was concerned about whether the two girls had boyfriends, half-jokingly wanting to set them up with the excellent male students in the camp. When all the officers and soldiers gathered in the test flight institute, they were shocked to find that the test flight conference started with a screen displaying photos of the fallen heroes.

Yi Zheng Bang personally took the stage to tell the stories of these martyrs, including Yu Tao's father, Yu Hai Yang, and mentioned the renowned 101st Naval Air Regiment. This heroic unit, with outstanding combat achievements in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea and national air defense operations, had shot down or damaged 31 enemy aircraft, setting 8 world firsts in aerial combat and low-altitude landing, and had been repeatedly received by the leadership and awarded the title of "Naval Air Force Eagles Regiment", the only regimental-level unit to receive such a major honor since the founding of New China.
