Episode 1 recap: Princess Ashina Yue Ling of the Eastern Yu Kingdom stole the marriage contract.

The younger princess Ashina Yue Ling cooked delicious food for her elder sister, praying for her sister's smooth marriage to the Northern Shuo. At this time, Ashina Xing Yi came to ask for money, praising the sister as the best cook and the most beautiful princess. Soon, the maid Qian Qian called the younger princess to quickly change her clothes and attend the evening celebration.

The younger princess Ashina Yue Ling saw that her elder sister A Shi Na Zhu was unhappy, and also saw Du'er's flute, realizing that her sister could not let go of Du'er, but had to marry for the sake of the Eastern Yu Kingdom. So Yue Ling bravely offered to substitute for the marriage, and the elder sister, feeling sorry for Yue Ling, had a drink with her.

When Yue Ling woke up, she learned that her elder sister had already married. She then took Xing Yi and Qian Qian to try to stop the marriage, but seeing the large number of people, she had to plan carefully. At this time, the sound of a cheerful flute was heard, and Yue Ling knew that it was Du'er. That night, Yue Ling disguised herself as a maid and entered the tent of the elder sister, letting the sister go to the back alley with Du'er, while she substituted for the sister and stole and burned the marriage contract. Finally, she blamed the lack of Northern Shuo guards, believing they would not dare to start a war again.

Yue Ling sneaked into the room of the Northern King Zhou Shi Yu, blowing in a sleeping smoke, intending to steal the marriage contract, but was discovered by Zhou Shi Yu. Yue Ling explained that she came to steal the treasures, and before they could question further, a barrage of arrows came flying, and they both were killed instantly.

After the assassins left, Zhou Shi Yu and Yue Ling suddenly woke up, their minds replaying the scene of their deaths. They immediately rushed outside, worried that others might also be in danger, and Yue Ling loudly called out that the elder princess had been kidnapped, shifting the blame to the Northern Shuo, then took the opportunity to escape.

After investigation, Zhou Shi Yu discovered that it was the work of the Soft Wind Sect, with heavy casualties on both the Northern Shuo and Eastern Yu sides, not seeming to be a collusion between the Northern Shuo and the Soft Wind Sect. But the elder princess was missing, and Zhou Shi Yu suspected the identities of Yue Ling and Xing Yi, so he chased after them.

Xing Yi's poisoning slowed down his actions, and they were soon caught up by Zhou Shi Yu. Zhou Shi Yu lied that Xing Yi was poisoned, and the only way to cure him was for the two of them to follow him back. Yue Ling had no choice but to agree.

Zhou Shi Yu asked Yue Ling to impersonate the elder princess, and Yue Ling agreed. She then arranged for Xing Yi, and secretly instructed all the guards that Yue Ling and Xing Yi were the elder princess's attendants. Yue Ling followed Zhou Shi Yu's wedding entourage back to the Northern Shuo, mistakenly thinking Zhou Shi Yu was just a guard, and asked him to guard the vehicles, which he agreed to.

The wedding procession was attacked, and Zhou Shi Yu and Yue Ling were killed and fell to the ground. Their jade amulets overlapped again, and they revived. Knowing the danger ahead, they ordered a change of route, but another ambush awaited them, and they were killed again. After reviving again, they proposed another route change, but still faced assassins. They realized the jade amulets could only allow them to revive multiple times, but could not free them from the predicament. If they could not break free, they would be worn out by repeated deaths.

Yue Ling decided to directly ask the assassins for poison to take, and dragged Zhou Shi Yu to do the same. As expected, they revived again. To break the siege, they decided to feint one way and attack another. Zhou Shi Yu drove the carriage with Yue Ling to escape, but they were still surrounded by assassins. Zhou Shi Yu then pulled Yue Ling and jumped off a cliff. Fortunately, there was a river at the bottom, and they were unharmed.
