Episode 10 recap: Guo Jing mastered the 18 Dragon Subduing Palms.
Yang Kang told Guo Jing that Lu Chengfeng had used false kindness and false favor to win over the jianghu figures, which is why he had become the leader of the Lake Tai group of heroes. Since Yang Kang had the surname Yang, he naturally would not have any grievances against Lu Chengfeng, who had kidnapped him.
Guo Jing and Huang Rong saw the emergency gathering signal of the beggar clan on the street, and Guo Jing guessed that the beggar clan was in trouble, and that Hong Qigong might be nearby.
Guo Jing and Yang Kang hurried to the town to rest, and were enthusiastically welcomed by the inn keeper. Yang Kang guessed that it was because Lu Chengfeng had arranged for them to be well taken care of, as recompense for detaining him at the Guiyun Manor. Guo Jing had not suspected anything, but after tasting the food, he found it very similar to Huang Rong's cooking, and he couldn't help but miss her.
Guo Jing didn't understand why Yang Kang had followed Mei Chaofeng to learn those evil and deviant martial arts. Yang Kang explained that he did not have the good fortune that Guo Jing had, to have the opportunity to learn the 18 Dragon Subduing Palms from Hong Qigong. He was also not favored by Qiu Chuji of the orthodox sects. Guo Jing thought that Qiu Chuji disliked Yang Kang because of a misunderstanding, thinking he had identified the wrong person as his father, and that if Yang Kang explained the truth to Qiu Chuji, he would surely forgive Yang Kang's past actions.
However, Yang Kang felt that he did not have much of a future following Qiu Chuji, and in his heart he resented having fallen from being a little prince to being even beneath Guo Jing. Twenty-three years ago, the Ming Cult had burned down the White Camel Mountain Manor, and the Ouyang family had wandered in exile for many years. Later, Ouyang Feng rebuilt the manor and returned the position of manor lord to Ouyang Ke's late father. Ouyang Feng himself did not remain at the White Camel Mountain Manor.
Later, when Ouyang Ke's mother passed away, the people in the manor wanted to choose a new lord, so Ouyang Feng returned to the mountain to help Ouyang Ke become the lord of the White Camel Mountain Manor. Ouyang Feng was always traveling, worrying that Ouyang Ke would have no one to take care of him, so he arranged for many girls to stay at the White Camel Mountain Manor to look after Ouyang Ke.
Ouyang Ke always wanted to find a woman like his mother, but none of the women were exactly like his mother, so he kept all the similar ones around him. Later, the woman most like his mother followed a scholar and left, so Ouyang Ke tracked them down and killed them both. Ouyang Ke intended to take the captured Mu Nianzi back to the White Camel Mountain Manor, but she was unwilling, so he forced her into a stone coffin.
Guo Jing and Yang Kang arrived in Jintan, and the inn keeper there also enthusiastically welcomed them. When Guo Jing tasted the Beggar's Chicken, he was certain that Huang Rong had arranged the food for them. Guo Jing learned that Huang Rong knew their itinerary, so he bid farewell to Yang Kang and hurried to the next stop in Baoying to see Huang Rong.
Guo Jing hurried to the inn in Baoying, and sure enough he encountered Huang Rong, who had already arranged meals for him. The two were overjoyed to reunite. The next day, Guo Jing and Huang Rong heard that many girls had gone missing around Baoying, and some even speculated it was the work of the Beggar Clan, infuriating Guo Jing.
Huang Rong discovered a signal for an emergency Beggar Clan meeting on the street, and they followed the signal to find some Beggar Clan members. They overheard the members planning to kidnap Miss Cheng from the same hall tonight. The two followed and discovered the Beggar Clan members were actually trying to help Miss Cheng. From the Beggar member Li Sheng, Guo Jing and Huang Rong learned the flower thief was likely from the Western Regions, and Huang Rong suspected it was Ouyang Ke. Knowing Li Sheng's plan, Huang Rong prepared to disguise herself as Miss Cheng to be kidnapped, in order to find Ouyang Ke.
That night, Huang Rong was indeed kidnapped by Ouyang Ke's men. Li Sheng and Guo Jing followed and found Ouyang Ke, but Ouyang Ke soon discovered them and had a venomous snake bite Li Sheng.
Guo Jing attacked Ouyang Ke, but was no match for him. Ouyang Ke looked down on the Beggar Clan's skills, but did not expect Hong Qigong to arrive and reprimand him. Ouyang Ke brought out Ouyang Feng as a shield, thinking that even if they fought, it should be between Hong Qigong's disciple and himself.
Huang Rong seized the opportunity presented by Ouyang Ke's words to remind Hong Qigong that he had not properly passed on his teachings to a direct disciple, so the vast common people could not rely on just one Hong Qigong to protect them. Hearing this, Hong Qigong decided to take on a disciple on the spot, and taught Guo Jing the final three moves of the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms, promising to take him as a disciple if Guo Jing could defeat Ouyang Ke.
Hong Qigong demonstrated the final three Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palm moves, and Guo Jing realized they were a combination of the previous fifteen moves. With this understanding, Guo Jing was able to execute the full Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms and defeat the injured Ouyang Ke, who then left in disgrace after handing over the antidote.
Huang Rong told Hong Qigong about how Ouyang Ke had tried to attack her, and requested to become his disciple. Facing Huang Rong's eloquence, Hong Qigong eventually agreed to take her as his disciple.
Hua Zheng had come to the Song Dynasty accompanied by Tolui, seeking to find Guo Jing. However, on the way they were attacked by Jurchen troops. After reuniting with Guo Jing and Yang Kang, they heard the call of the White Eagle and Guo Jing, Huang Rong and Yang Kang were able to successfully rescue the attacked Hua Zheng and Tolui following the eagle's guidance.
