Episode 13 recap: Guo Jing was tricked into learning the Nine Yin Manual.
Zhou Botong befriended Guo Jing as brothers and taught him his martial arts. Mu Nianci understood Yang Kang's dissatisfaction with his descent from the clouds to the dirt, and she expressed that she would always accompany Yang Kang. On the way, they encountered the Four Demons of the Yellow River chasing the Beggars' Sect, and since the Beggars' Sect had previously helped Mu Nianci, she decided to lend a hand.
Ouyang Feng and Hong Qigong, the uncles of Ouyang Ke and the disciple Guo Jing respectively, came to propose marriage to the Evil Cult Leader. When they met, neither side would back down. Yang Kang followed Mu Nianci to Niujia Village in Linan County and saw the defeated state of his home, lamenting the fickleness of the world.
Huang Rong told her father Huang Yaoshi that it is difficult to forget a person, and asked how he had managed to live alone for so many years after her mother passed away. Huang Yaoshi told his daughter that he was not afraid of not remembering a person, but rather of not being able to forget.
Huang Rong planned to see Guo Jing and then let him return to the grasslands. Zhou Botong, who had been trapped on Peach Blossom Island for fifteen years, had researched the Emptiness Fist, which he believed perfectly complemented Guo Jing's Eighteen Dragon Surging Waves. He then taught this fist to Guo Jing, who learned about seven-eighths of it in one night. Zhou Botong then took Guo Jing back to the Peach Blossom Array, where Huang Rong had also come to see Guo Jing. Guo Jing was very happy to see Huang Rong, but she told him that although she did like him, she would not allow him to be shared with anyone else. Huang Rong told Guo Jing that she had already drugged Huang Yaoshi, and this was Guo Jing's last chance to leave Peach Blossom Island.
However, Guo Jing expressed that he had no intention of leaving Peach Blossom Island and chose to stay with Huang Rong. Huang Yaoshi then arrived, intending to kill Guo Jing, but Zhou Botong appeared to defend Guo Jing. However, Zhou Botong was accidentally bitten by a snake, and Huang Yaoshi also discovered many venomous snakes on the island, so he quickly left with Huang Rong.
Guo Jing took Zhou Botong back to the cave and sucked out the snake venom with his own mouth. Huang Rong then sent an antidote, and Guo Jing personally treated Zhou Botong's snake bite wound, saving his life. When Zhou Botong woke up, he wanted to deal with Huang Yaoshi, so he asked Guo Jing to become sworn brothers, and Guo Jing agreed.
Unexpectedly, Zhou Botong discovered the Nine Yin Manual wrapped around the dagger in Guo Jing's bag. It turned out that the dagger Mei Chaofeng had once owned was wrapped in the Nine Yin Manual, so when Guo Jing's second master gave him the dagger, he had also taken Mei Chaofeng's Nine Yin Manual. Zhou Botong recognized this as the true Nine Yin Manual and successfully obtained it from Guo Jing.
Ou Yang Ke's snake formation was broken by Huang Yao Shi. Huang Yao Shi saw Ou Yang Feng bringing Ou Yang Ke to visit, and invited them into the island.
Zhou Bo Tong did not want to violate his senior's promise to cultivate the Nine Yin Manual, but was curious about this martial art. He tempted Guo Jing to learn this martial art, but did not tell Guo Jing that it was the Nine Yin Manual. Instead, he told Guo Jing that if he became the number one in the world, he could marry Huang Rong, which greatly excited Guo Jing.
Huang Rong was ordered by her father to meet with Ou Yang Feng, but she also told him about the many times Ou Yang Ke had troubled her in the Central Plains. Ou Yang Ke proactively apologized, and proposed marriage to Huang Rong in front of Huang Yao Shi. He also presented a precious antidote item as a gift to Huang Rong. Although Huang Rong did not like Ou Yang Ke, Huang Yao Shi still had her daughter accept the gift.
Huang Rong was outraged and wanted to attack Ou Yang Ke, but was stopped by Huang Yao Shi. She could only leave in anger. Huang Yao Shi accepted the antidote treasure, but said the marriage proposal would be reconsidered.
Mu Nian Ci saw the four Underworld Ghosts of the Yellow River chasing the Beggars' Sect, and decided to rescue them out of gratitude for Hong Qi Gong's teachings. The person she saved told her that on the fifteenth of the next month, there would be a gathering in Yuezhou, where news of the "Martial Marquis' Legacy" in Cuihan Hall would be passed back to the sect.
Mu Nian Ci asked Yang Kang to care for this person, while she went to personally inform the Beggars' Sect. However, Yang Kang, troubled by his inner demons, killed the person from the Beggars' Sect with his own hands.
Guo Jing was deceived by Zhou Bo Tong into cultivating the Nine Yin Manual, and his skills indeed greatly improved as a result. Huang Rong came to Guo Jing and told him that Ou Yang Feng had brought Ou Yang Ke to propose marriage on Peach Blossom Island. Huang Rong wanted to leave Peach Blossom Island with Guo Jing.
Guo Jing originally wanted to take Zhou Bo Tong with them, but Zhou Bo Tong wanted to wait until after fulfilling his bet with Huang Yao Shi before leaving. So Guo Jing and Huang Rong had to leave first.
At the seaside, Guo Jing and Huang Rong were blocked by Ou Yang Ke. Guo Jing tried to discipline Ou Yang Ke, but was counterattacked by Ou Yang Feng. At the same time, Huang Yao Shi also played the "Rising Tide of the Azure Sea" melody to disrupt the situation. Just then, Hong Qi Gong descended from the sky and resolved the deadlock. Guo Jing and Huang Rong were overjoyed to see their master.
Hong Qi Gong was invited onto the island, and he personally proposed Guo Jing's marriage to Huang Rong to Huang Yao Shi. Now that Guo Jing and Huang Rong were a perfect match, Ou Yang Ke was naturally not as good a choice compared to the honest and upright Guo Jing.
Both Ou Yang Feng and Hong Qi Gong defended their respective nephew/disciple, and the two were about to come to blows.
