Colleague Yan An Yang advised Chu Yun to notify criminal judge Qi Lin, as Qi Run Yu is Qi Lin's own aunt who raised him since childhood after his parents passed away. Chu Yun explained the purpose of the visit, and Qi Run Yu then realized that Fang Qiang had secretly transferred the ownership of the restaurant and obtained a mortgage loan without her knowledge. The trial ended, and Chief Justice Ma Wen Jun sent someone to call Qi Lin. Fang Dai Cheng rushed to seek Qi Lin's help. Qi Lin briefly understood the circumstances. Fang, thinking Qi Lin was responsible for his mother Qi Run Yu's arrest, angrily accused Qi Lin of being an ungrateful wretch. Qi Lin explained the facts to him, and Fang finally revealed the truth - that factory director Dong Ming had helped Fang transfer the restaurant and even arranged for him to get a loan, promising him shares in the company after the IPO. Qi Lin realized Fang had been deceived.
Fang sneaked away while Qi Lin was distracted. Listening to Qi Lin's words, Fang started having doubts and called Dong Ming, but the call went unanswered, making Fang realize the gravity of the situation.
Li Ren had gambled away over 300,000 in Macau and refused to repay the debt, defying the court's enforcement efforts. Chu Yun tried persuading him, but Li Ren remained stubborn, even asking Chu Yun for a bottle of water out of thirst.
Dong Ming's factory was deeply in debt, so he had mortgaged his girlfriend Dai Lan's beauty salon. Dai Lan came to confront him, and Dong Ming learned that the judge responsible for the Zhou You Min case was Qi Lin. Dong Ming planned to bribe Qi Lin to get a lenient sentence for Zhou You Min, so he could extort money from Zhou You Min's father.
