Episode 18 recap: Qi Lin takes over the Li Gui Zhi bedlam case.
The Execution Division II received a new case, where Li Gui Zhi had been hospitalized for three and a half years, accruing a large medical bill for hospitalization and treatment. She has two sons, Chen Wen and Chen Wu, who have never visited the hospital. The hospital sued Li Gui Zhi in court, but the court's attempts at execution were unsuccessful.
Li Gui Zhi locked herself to the hospital bed, intending to live out her days there. Qi Lin came to visit Li Gui Zhi, but she would immediately yell at him to leave. Li Gui Zhi had been in the Second Hospital of Qinggang for three and a half years, racking up a huge hospital bill that she couldn't pay. Her sons Chen Wen and Chen Wu never visited the hospital. The hospital's party committee decided to sue Li Gui Zhi in court, and the court ruled to have the Execution Division II handle the case.
The uninformed public online criticized the hospital for abandoning Li Gui Zhi and disregarding human life, causing a very bad influence. The municipal committee leadership took this matter seriously. Concerned that the lengthy execution process would bring more trouble to the hospital, the hospital director, Lu Xue Ling, personally went to the court leadership to request forced execution of Li Gui Zhi. Zhou Lei gave Chu Yun a firm order, and Chu Yun handed the Li Gui Zhi case over to Qi Lin to handle, with forced execution authorized if necessary.
Qin Hong spent 30,000 to purchase a rare Huang family wood carving. She deliberately broke the carving, then went to Huang Chun Xiang, the artist's daughter, for help repairing it. Huang Chun Xiang hadn't seen this piece in thirty years.

Qi Lin brought Zhang Tian Yi and Ou Yang Lu Lu to the hospital to see Li Gui Zhi, specifically bringing her a pork trotter rice dish. Fearing being forcibly removed, Li Gui Zhi chained herself to the hospital bed daily. Qi Lin offered her the pork dish, but sensing his motive, she resolutely refused to eat it or leave the hospital.
The young patient Dou Dou came to visit Li Gui Zhi, who immediately became amiable, warmly chatting with Dou Dou. Qi Lin then gave the pork dish to Dou Dou, enraging Li Gui Zhi, who angrily knocked the food to the floor and forcibly expelled Qi Lin's group. Dou Dou's mother rushed over to apologize to Qi Lin. Dou Dou had leukemia since birth and had been hospitalized. Li Gui Zhi had taken an immediate liking to Dou Dou, as they shared the same birthday. Dou Dou required a sterile diet, so Li Gui Zhi knocked over the food in a moment of urgency. Dou Dou's mother didn't want Li Gui Zhi to be discharged, as Dou Dou would be too lonely.
Qin Hong would frequently visit Ma Wen Jun's mother, desperately flattering her. When Ma's mother casually mentioned that Ma Wen Jun was on a business trip to Xinzhou, Qin Hong saw an opportunity for a romantic encounter with Ma.
Qi Lin and his team hit a snag at Li Gui Zhi's place, so they had to go back and report to Chu Yun. Chu Yun decided to enforce on Li Gui Zhi.
Ma Wen Jun and Zhou Lei came to the New State Court for a meeting. The court leaders wanted to send a few young judges to the Qinggang Court to learn, and Zhou Lei readily agreed. Chu Yun brought the court police to the hospital. Qi Lin wanted to talk to Li Gui Zhi first, asking Chu Yun and his team to wait outside.
When Li Gui Zhi saw Qi Lin, he flew into a rage, throwing a bottle at him and cursing him loudly. Seeing the situation was getting out of hand, Chu Yun had Shao Jun lead the police in to restrain Li Gui Zhi. Doudou came to see Li Gui Zhi and was frightened by the scene of Li Gui Zhi being held down, crying loudly. Doudou's mother hurriedly took him away. Suddenly, Li Gui Zhi fainted on the bed, so Qi Lin and Chu Yun had to leave first.
Qi Lin blamed Chu Yun for being too impulsive. Chu Yun insisted on waiting until Li Gui Zhi recovered before enforcing. Qi Lin wanted to talk to Li Gui Zhi's two sons.
Ma Wen Jun invited Zhou Lei to try the local specialty foods of New State, but Zhou Lei had already made plans with his comrades, so Ma Wen Jun went to the restaurant alone and ordered his usual dishes, a restaurant he had frequented during his college days.
Qin Hong later arrived and ordered the exact same dishes. Ma Wen Jun thought they were fated, and was secretly pleased.
Chen Qi Lun helped Huang Yao Zu's son get into Qinggang No.1 High School. Li Bo came to inform Huang Yao Zu, who was extremely grateful to Chen Qi Lun and wanted to take him out to eat, but Li Bo specifically said not to go to his brother's restaurant to avoid being swindled.
Ma Wen Jun and Qin Hong chatted amiably. Qin Hong revealed she wanted to go into the art business. Ma Wen Jun thanked Qin Hong for frequently visiting his mother. After the meal, Ma Wen Jun wanted to take Qin Hong back, but unexpectedly they were staying in the same hotel, so they walked back together, chatting along the way.
