Episode 27 recap: Miao Jiang Continues Working for the Japanese

In episode 27, Dà Qiáo prepares to evacuate according to plan. He takes the materials related to the Falling Cherry Blossom plan and goes to meet with Zeng Ji Wu. Wen Yi Shan and the others had laid an ambush earlier, instructing Zeng Ji Wu to first confirm whether the materials are in the car. Dà Qiáo notices that Zeng Ji Wu has an injury on his head and starts to suspect him, drawing his gun on Zeng Ji Wu.

Suddenly, the guerrilla fighters attack Dà Qiáo and his men, catching the Japanese by surprise. Dà Qiáo quickly orders the destruction of the materials in the car, but he is captured by Wen Yi Shan and the others as he tries to escape. The guerrilla fighters and the Nationalist army troops encounter each other, both drawing their weapons. Wen Yi Shan falsely claims to be a Sichuan army soldier, accusing the guerrilla fighters of wrongly opening fire on Sichuan army territory.

Wú Guāng Xián believes the guerrilla fighters' attack on the Japanese troops has nothing to do with them. He purposefully pretends to believe Wen Yi Shan is a Sichuan army soldier, saying he knows a Sichuan army officer named Yáng Jiè Lì. Qín Mò Qīng advises Wen Yi Shan not to escalate the situation, and that they should quickly bring Dà Qiáo back to Chongqing. Wèi Qīng Míng learns that Dà Qiáo has been captured and quickly informs Òu Xiǎo Ān.

Òu Xiǎo Ān is concerned about the whereabouts of the poison gas grenades. He suggests postponing the victory celebration rally, believing Chongqing is not safe now. But Wèi Qīng Míng thinks the poison gas grenades are just Dà Qiáo's trick to keep them anxious and unsettled. He insists on holding the rally, although the final decision rests with their superiors.

Òu Xiǎo Ān suspects the air raid shelter has not been thoroughly checked. Wèi Qīng Míng authorizes him to investigate. A Japanese woman calls Miáo Jiāng, accusing her of carelessness, saying they have recovered Tián Zhōng's body, and demands that Miáo Jiāng meet her at a designated location.

Òu Xiǎo Ān brings a team to the air raid shelter, requesting to see the construction blueprints and re-inspecting the suspicious areas. Lǐ Shào Táng does not obstruct them, allowing Òu Xiǎo Ān's team to proceed with the inspection. Òu Xiǎo Ān finds many canisters, but learns they are just oxygen tanks, finding no suspicious items.

The Japanese woman threatens Miáo Jiāng to continue working for the Japanese. She reveals she had already sent people to monitor Miáo Jiāng and Tián Zhōng's activities. She believes that even though the Emperor has surrendered, it does not mean they can leave. She introduces herself to Miáo Jiāng as Chéng Hé Huì Zǐ, prepared to become Miáo Jiāng's new supervisor, and says she will arrange a new identity for her to go to Japan after the task is completed.

Lǐ Shào Táng is displeased that Wèi Qīng Míng authorized Òu Xiǎo Ān to investigate the air raid shelter. Wèi Qīng Míng pretends to be unaware, asking Lǐ Shào Táng to explain the situation with the shelter's blueprints. Lǐ Shào Táng does not want to open the shelter, but the schedule for the rally remains unchanged.

After the fruitless search, Òu Xiǎo Ān is about to leave when he discovers a warehouse filled with construction debris. Féng Yù Nián learns that Wèi Qīng Míng is investigating the air raid shelter, believing he is jealous of her accomplishments, and suspects Wèi Qīng Míng and Wen Yi Shan are up to something behind the scenes.

Lǐ Shào Táng mentions that Wen Yi Shan has disappeared, and Féng Yù Nián only knows they went out to search for the poison gas grenades. Féng Jìng Xiǎn is teaching a class, and the children ask her when the war will end, to which she momentarily doesn't know how to respond. Lǐ Shào Táng arrives at the school and sees this, then tells the children the war will be over soon.

Wú Guāng Xiǎn returns the Nationalist army troops rescued from 810 to their unit. Lú Zǐ Míng is relieved to be alive and happily rolls on the ground. Qín Mò Qīng inquires about the situation with Lú Zǐ Míng, learning that the two Communist party members rescued were Lǐ Mǎn Qiū and Yè Xuān Mǐn.
