Episode 30 recap: Li Shao Tang Suspects Something Is Off with Qin Mo Qing
In Episode 30, Li Shao Tang used his connections to gather information, and he finally discovered that Da Qiao was being held in an unregistered villa in Hua Jiang. Meanwhile, Miao Jiang also found an abandoned elementary school, and Wei Qing Ming wanted to use it as an interrogation room to question the rescued victims.
However, Miao Jiang felt that Qin Mo Qing was acting strangely, so he decided to find evidence to support his suspicions. As soon as Li Shao Tang received the news, he rushed to the Hua Jiang villa. When Wei Qing Ming heard that Li Shao Tang was going after Da Qiao, he immediately went to stop him.
Li Shao Tang, being a bioweapons expert, tried to intimidate Wei Qing Ming, but Wei Qing Ming was no pushover. He had already figured out that Li Shao Tang and Feng Yu Nian wanted to use Da Qiao to gather information about the "Falling Sakura" plan so they could take credit for it.
Wei Qing Ming deliberately allowed Li Shao Tang to see Da Qiao, wanting to see what information Li Shao Tang could extract from him. When Li Shao Tang and Da Qiao met, the tension was palpable. Da Qiao even threatened to have Li Shao Tang kill him, but Li Shao Tang had no intention of doing that, saying he would instead send Da Qiao to a military tribunal.
The two men ended up arguing, and Li Shao Tang nearly strangled Da Qiao. Wei Qing Ming intervened, suspecting that Li Shao Tang's behavior was too suspicious and that he might be a Japanese spy, although he lacked the evidence to prove it.
Meanwhile, Ou Xiao An thought Zeng Ji Wu had transferred all the hospital staff, so he threatened Zeng Ji Wu with a knife. Zeng Ji Wu had no choice but to say he had followed Wei Qing Ming's orders, not knowing where the staff had been taken. Ou Xiao An was distressed to hear that Ye Xuan Min had been taken away by Shen Cong Wu.
Wang Qiu Shui found Qin Mo Qing and warned her to be careful, as they were starting to suspect her motives for rescuing Ye Xuan Min. Wang Qiu Shui also revealed that Shen Cong Wu might use Ye Xuan Min as a bargaining chip, which alarmed Qin Mo Qing.
Feng Yu Nian was urging Li Shao Tang to get Feng Jing Xian to hurry up and get married, but Feng Jing Xian felt that Feng Yu Nian was just using her, trying to climb the ranks by associating with Shen Cong Wu.
Li Shao Tang accidentally overheard their conversation, and promised Feng Jing Xian that he wouldn't make her wait too long.
Ou Xiao An wanted to ask Wen Yi Shan for help in finding someone, but Wen Yi Shan saw it as an opportunity to take down Wei Qing Ming and regain his position as the station chief in Chongqing.
Ou Xiao An naturally didn't agree to sacrificing an innocent person, so he ended up getting beaten up by Wen Yi Shan. Wen Yi Shan even started suspecting Qin Mo Qing and told Ou Xiao An to keep an eye on her.
Li Shao Tang told Feng Yu Nian that they needed to inform Shen Cong Wu right away, so he could examine the bridge first.
Sure enough, Shen Cong Wu took the bridge away, leaving Wei Qing Ming furious but powerless. When Shen Cong Wu examined the bridge alone, he asked the bridge to cooperate with him in fighting the Communists, but the bridge refused, saying he wanted to go back to Tokyo. Shen Cong Wu got angry, saying the bridge had no right to make demands. The bridge then proposed that Li Shao Tang be the guarantor, and Shen Cong Wu agreed after some consideration.
When Li Shao Tang met the bridge, he addressed him as "teacher" and expressed concern for his safety, hoping he could cooperate smoothly with Shen Cong Wu to return to Tokyo. But the bridge refused to hand over his research results, and reminded Li Shao Tang to remember his own responsibilities.
Later, Director Zhang and Wang Chun put pressure on Shen Cong Wu, urging him to deal with the bridge issue quickly.
Li Shao Tang suggested executing the bridge, and even invited Wang Chun to witness it. After Zhang and the others left, Li Shao Tang told Shen Cong Wu to just have the bridge fake his own death to avoid the heat.
