With his colleagues' help, Officer Fan finally discovered that the source of the counterfeit bills seized from Chang was Wei Zhi. Tricked into paying labor fees with counterfeit money, Wei Zhi was deeply shaken and decided to get into counterfeiting.
Originally named Kang Gaoyuan, Wei Zhi later renamed himself. As counterfeiting detection technology improved, he decided to retire from the business. Following a master's advice, he buried his printing press under an acrobat troupe and left the remaining counterfeit bills with Cui Heimei to be destroyed, but Cui kept them behind his back, hoping to sell them.
When the merchants Zhang had already secured suddenly changed their minds and called him, Zhang rushed over and found Dog Brother waiting for him. Just then, Chang arrived and hurriedly pulled Zhang away, and Dog Brother ordered his men to go after them.
