Episode 13 recap: Shen Lan Plans to Kill Yun Shu
In Episode 13, just as Song Huan Bei thought Yun Shu had calmed down, Meng Niang also arrived and coquettishly provoked Song Huan Bei, causing the just-calmed-down Yun Shu to lose her appetite. Shen Lan's subordinates discovered that Yun Yi had actually killed the spy they had planted earlier. Shen Lan knew that whenever Yun Shu was involved, Yun Yi would go crazy, so Shen Lan decided to kill Yun Shu to eliminate the threat once and for all.
While Song Huan Bei and Yun Shu were still arguing because of Meng Niang's antics, Shen Lan's maid arrived and brought a bowl of hot chicken soup, telling Yun Shu to drink it while it was hot. Song Huan Bei and Yun Shu both knew the soup was Shen Lan's attempt on Yun Shu's life, so Song Huan Bei quickly took the soup and drank it all.
Shen Lan then directly confronted Yun Yi, reminding him that he had previously said Yun Shu could be kept alive, but her origins had to remain a secret. Shen Lan said the only way to ensure safety was for Yun Shu to die, so she gave Yun Yi the poison to kill Yun Shu. Frightened, Yun Yi immediately spilled the poison. Shen Lan was disappointed but not surprised, as she had already instructed someone to deliver the poisoned chicken soup to the General's mansion.
Furious, Yun Yi wanted to escape through the secret passage to warn Yun Shu, but Shen Lan had already ordered the passage to be sealed. Yun Yi then drew out a hairpin, intent on killing Shen Lan.
