Episode 20 recap: Yun Shu Returns to the Palace to Visit Yun Yi
In episode 20, ever since the two got together, Song Huan Bei has grown even fonder of Yun Shu. No matter where they are, he is extra attentive to Yun Shu, though she seems quite uncomfortable. But Song Huan Bei doesn't mind, as long as he can be by Yun Shu's side and show his affection. When Yun Shu got married, Yun Yi sent her a congratulatory gift - a fragrant sachet. Although Yun Shu didn't want to accept it, she still kept it.
Yun Shu recalled that when she was young, because of the tattoo on her shoulder that would have revealed her as a member of the Mo family, the assassins painfully used a branding iron to turn it into a scar. For Yun Shu, it was only physical pain, but for Yun Yi, it was emotional pain. Yun Shu is the only remaining heir of the Mo family, and Yun Yi has to protect her with her life, not allowing any harm to come to her.
Song Huan Bei asked Yun Shu to go back and visit Yun Yi, because it was thanks to Yun Yi's persistent kneeling before the Emperor for several days and nights that Yun Shu was eventually pardoned. When Yun Shu returned to the palace to visit her aunt, Yun Yi at first didn't believe it was really her, thinking it was an illusion. But when Yun Shu affectionately called her "Aunt Yun Yi," Yun Yi finally realized it was truly her niece who had returned, and she was overjoyed.
