Episode 4 recap: Wang Kui Blackmails Yun Shu for the Token
In episode 4, Qian Yan went to deliver food to the transport, but was shocked to find that he had slept with Song Huanbei. Previously, the male companions sent to the general were all impressive, but the transport had never let any of them stay overnight, except for the Sect Leader of the Qiji Chamber. However, Yun Shu did not want to explain the situation. At this time, Song Huanbei also chimed in, wanting to give the transport some plum soup, unaware that Yun Shu shared the same taste as his junior sister.
Yun Shu ordered Qian Yan to impose a city-wide curfew and arrest Wang Kui. Soon, Wang Kui sent a message to the transport, demanding the exchange of the highest token of the Qiji Chamber for what he wanted. Yun Shu was concerned that Song Huanbei might not agree. Yun Shu directly summoned Song Huanbei to the room, only to be knocked unconscious by Qian Yan.
When Yun Shu returned, he found that Song Huanbei had been bound and left on the bed, which surprised Yun Shu, but he felt it was a good opportunity to negotiate terms. However, Song Huanbei also wanted to know if Yun Shu was his junior sister, so he tried to probe about Yun Shu's knowledge of the Mo family, unaware that this was a painful memory for Yun Shu, as Yun Shu's sister had died in a fire there.
Sensing that Yun Shu no longer remembered the past, Song Huanbei did not pursue the matter further. However, he had already anticipated that Wang Kui would ask Yun Shu to lend the token, knowing that Wang Kui must have something Yun Shu wanted. Just then, they both passed out, as Qian Yan had placed aphrodisiac in the incense burner.
Song Huanbei asked Yun Shu to meditate and help detoxify, and only after Yun Shu had recovered, did he start detoxifying himself, using cold water to suppress the drug's effects. Yun Shu found this behavior strange, as if Song Huanbei and he were old acquaintances.
