Episode 6 recap: Songhuanpei Helps Yun Shu Treat Her Illness

In Episode 6, Shen Lan invites Songhuanpei for tea, knowing that Songhuanpei has taken Wang Kui's testimony. Songhuanpei directly gives the testimony to Shen Lan, only hoping to assist Shen Lan in the future. Although Shen Lan knows having the support of the Qiankuan Hall is crucial, he orders Songhuanpei to kill Yun Shu to demonstrate his loyalty. Qianyan reports to Yun Shu that Wang Kui has been killed, and Yun Shu knows it is the Crown Prince Shen Lan's doing. She is now worried that Wang Kui's daughter will be saddened by the news.

Songhuanpei is reluctant to fulfill Shen Lan's request and goes to find a way to address it. Seeing that Yun Shu is suffering from an illness that lingers from a previous fire, Songhuanpei feels guilty, believing it is his fault that his junior sister fell ill. He quickly tries to help alleviate her pain through cultivation. Yun Shu wants Songhuanpei to inform Wang Meng about Wang Kui's death, but when Wang Meng arrives and brings Yun Shu a bowl of congee, she already knows about her father's death, as Qianyan had made it public. This upsets Yun Shu greatly.

Songhuanpei believes his foster father Su Shan will be able to treat Yun Shu's stubborn illness, so he takes her to see him. After examining her, the elderly Su Shan says the illness is difficult to treat but not impossible, but he requires Yun Shu to recall the details of the fire incident from years ago, which she has long forgotten.

Su Shan, also a Mohist, is very familiar with Yun Shu's appearance and calls Songhuanpei aside, wanting to know the truth, but Songhuanpei is reluctant to reveal it, fearing more people knowing Yun Shu's origins could lead to unexpected consequences, leaving Su Shan quite perplexed.
