Episode 12 recap: Lily joined the Xingchen Company.

Han Ting reminded Ji Xing in the narrow stairwell that gossip meant nothing to Han Ting, but if Ji Xing couldn't resist the pressure, it would be best not to take risks, as taking shortcuts still came at a cost. Han Ting left, and Ji Xing knew he had misunderstood her, but his impartial words had touched her. That night, Ji Xing sent a message to the North Di sales team, explaining that her relationship with Han Ting was simply a superior-subordinate one, and that she would understand if they wanted to retract the 1% discount they had previously agreed to.

The North Di team quickly replied, saying they appreciated Ji Xing's honesty, and that the original deal would still stand. Ji Xing finally felt at ease. Lily had started working at Xingchen, and Su Zhi Zhou was especially happy, personally finding her a desk and helping her settle in.

Ji Xing sent an apology message to Han Ting, promising that nothing like that would happen again. Han Ting returned to Hainan to visit his grandfather, who had built up the family business. The grandfather knew that Han Ting had invested in Xingchen, and made no secret of his low opinion of Ji Xing, feeling Han Ting was wasting too much effort on a small, fledgling company. Han Ting candidly expressed his admiration for Ji Xing, acknowledging that being with him would come with many challenges that not everyone could handle.

Regardless, the grandfather gave Ji Xing two years - if Xingchen could not repay Dongyang's previous investment, there would be no further cooperation opportunities.

Shao Yi Chen quietly found Lily and gave her a bank card, saying that the lawsuit at home had been resolved and the company's year-end bonus had been paid. He knew Ji Xing was in a startup period and would definitely need capital, so he wanted to help her as much as he could.

Lily was curious - Shao Yi Chen was about to propose to Ji Xing, so why did they suddenly break up? Shao Yi Chen explained that he and Ji Xing were not suitable for each other, as he had always wanted a simple life, but as Ji Xing kept shining, he realized he couldn't provide her any support, not even a safe harbor.

Lily could see Shao Yi Chen's deep feelings for Ji Xing, though his excuse seemed flimsy. But Lily didn't want to pry further.

Ji Xing had to suddenly go to Star Port Hospital to see Dr. Li Quan'an, so she asked Su Zhi Zhou to report to Han Ting. Su Zhi Zhou, being socially anxious, handed the materials to Han Ting without a word. Han Ting silently reviewed the documents for a full 5 minutes, causing Su Zhi Zhou to break out in a sweat - Han Ting's presence was truly commanding, despite their similar ages.

Lu Lin Jia's mother was going to participate in an elderly singing competition, and had hired a vocal coach to practice at home. Little did she know, this vocal coach, Tu Xiaomeng, had a relationship with her son. When Lu Lin Jia heard the vocal coach had arrived, he was initially curious, but when their eyes met, both their faces turned green with awkwardness.

After the brief awkwardness, Lu Lin Jia's mother resumed discussing singing and vocal techniques. Lu Lin Jia quietly asked his mother to help him add Tu Xiaomeng on WeChat, which she successfully did.
