Episode 30 recap: Han Ting Brings Ji Xing to a Family Dinner

In Episode 30, Lili called Xiao Yi Xiao and returned all the recent gifts she had received from him. Xiao Yi Xiao asked her if she really wanted to end things so decisively. Lili smiled and said that since there was no engagement, there was no need to continue the relationship. She also specifically told Xiao Yi Xiao not to call her drunk again in the future, and that it would be best if they just went their separate ways.

Han Ting's grandfather called him and said he wanted to have a meal together. Han Ting suggested that he bring Ji Xing along as well, and the grandfather didn't object. In the afternoon, Han Ting went to pick up Ji Xing from work and noticed she seemed down. When he asked, he learned it was because of the competition between Xingchen Company and Hanhai Company.

After the meal, the grandfather invited Ji Xing to admire some calligraphy with him. He deliberately mentioned the deep meaning behind Han Ting's name, and asked Ji Xing about the meaning of her name. Ji Xing smiled and said she was named Ji Xing because her eyes were big like stars when she was born. The grandfather then reminded her that the family backgrounds of her and Han Ting were vastly different, and not easy to reconcile. Ji Xing understood, but unapologetically felt that love shouldn't be measured by family background.

Later, Han Yuan discovered that Han Ting had invested a lot of money into Hanhai, which was actually his own company. She told this to Chang He and Zeng Di, and the three decided to work together to target Han Ting from within. Zeng Di also deliberately told Ji Xing that Han Ting was only getting close to her because she was naive and easily fooled. Hearing this, Ji Xing felt very uncomfortable, feeling that Han Ting had deceived her. That night, she asked Han Ting what would happen if Hanhai developed quickly and tried to absorb Xingchen.
