Episode 24 recap: A Winding Path to the Future
In episode 24, Xiao Hua cleverly used her phone to mislead her parents, making them think she was reviewing college entrance exam English materials, thus alleviating their concerns about her dating. Xiao Hua then began to feel anxious about the upcoming unified college entrance exam, but received encouragement and support from her friends Lan Jing Hui and Ling Dong, who even volunteered to be her drawing models to help her practice.
One day, Xiao Hua's mother discovered that Xiao Hua was not at her tutoring class as expected, but staying at school to study on her own. When she went to the school to look for Xiao Hua, she accidentally ran into Qing Tian, who quickly notified Xiao Hua's other friends to help cover for her. Unaware of this, Xiao Hua was caught by her mother while looking for Chen Lu Yang to clean her paintbrushes.
Xiao Hua's mother tried to persuade her to give up painting, but Xiao Hua stood firm. The mother then decided to confine Xiao Hua at home for the entire weekend, but this would mean Xiao Hua would miss the school's competency test, which was required for the art college entrance exam. Ling Dong, Lan Jing Hui, and Qing Tian devised a plan to secretly get Xiao Hua out of the house, with Ling Dong posing as a maintenance worker to access Xiao Hua's home and escort her out. Under her father's cover, Xiao Hua was able to take the test.
When her mother caught up with them, Xiao Hua firmly stated that she would regret it if she didn't take the test, and promised to take full responsibility. Moved by her determination, Xiao Hua's mother handed her the forgotten ID card and supported her in taking the test.
