Episode 28 recap: Jia-Ming Yu Released from Prison and Divorces Yifei Jiang
In this episode, Helen hatches a plan to use MC's advanced chip production line in exchange for a stake in the Sunrise Group. When Cheng-Yu Luo discusses this with Muyang Ding and Ange Chu, Muyang shakes his head like a rattle, saying that both Helen and Mason are no pushovers, and that they need to think this partnership through carefully.
As they're talking, a call comes in from the prison guard, saying that Jia-Ming Yu is causing trouble again and demands to divorce Yifei Jiang one more time. Cheng-Yu rushes to the prison to have a heart-to-heart talk with Jia-Ming. He pleads with Jia-Ming not to be so negative, but Jia-Ming seems to be ignoring him. Cheng-Yu then brings up Yifei and their child, which seems to strike a chord with Jia-Ming.
After Jia-Ming is released, Cheng-Yu learns that Jia-Ming was afraid of Yifei visiting him in prison, and just wanted her to be happy. The men realize that the smart city 2.0 they're planning will be held back by the semiconductor shortage, and Jian Dan laments the lack of good chips for the rescue robots she's working on.
A year passes, and Jia-Ming has shown good behavior and had his sentence reduced. Xizi Chu encourages Yifei to give Jia-Ming another chance, and to everyone's surprise, Jia-Ming has developed a remote visitation system and earned a work-release opportunity. Cheng-Yu wants to bring Jia-Ming on board, but Ange and the others are skeptical, worried that Jia-Ming's wild ways may not change.
