Episode 5 recap: Xiao Yao left the wedding with Xiang Liu.

Just as Xiao Yao's wedding to Chi Shui Feng Long reached its critical moment, Tu Shan Jing hid in the shadows, tears silently sliding down her face, her heart feeling as if it was being torn apart. Just as the bride and groom were about to perform the ceremony, a hurried sound of footsteps broke the tranquility of the scene. Xiang Liu barged in like a sudden gust of wind and directly requested that Xiao Yao abandon the wedding.

Xiao Yao's gaze flashed with a hint of struggle, but she ultimately shook her head firmly and demanded that Xiang Liu leave immediately. Xiang Liu did not give up, solemnly reminding Xiao Yao of the vow they had once made. This sentence was like a bolt from the blue, causing Xiao Yao's face to instantly turn pale. She painfully closed her eyes, as if returning to the moment when that vow came true.

Seeing this, Xiang Liu entreated her again to leave with him, promising to protect her from all harm. However, Xiao Yao questioned Xiang Liu, asking why he had to intervene in her life in such an almost insulting manner, putting her in a dilemma. Xiang Liu fell silent, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.

He knew full well that his actions might inflict irreparable damage on Xiao Yao, but he was even more unable to watch her enter what he believed to be the wrong marriage. In the end, Xiang Liu could only firmly demand once again that Xiao Yao go with him, his tone conveying an unyielding resolve. After experiencing a fierce internal struggle, Xiao Yao finally made her decision.

She apologized to Chi Shui Feng Long with remorse, and then resolutely chose to follow Xiang Liu. Chi Shui Feng Long's face was filled with disappointment and sadness, but he still held back his tears and waved to his subordinates to let them leave.

The news quickly spread across the continent. Qiang Xuan of Western Yan secretly rejoiced upon hearing it, while Chen Rong Xin Yue was furious, unable to understand why someone would be so bold as to disrupt a meticulously planned wedding. Xiang Liu gazed at Xiao Yao, his eyes filled with a complex emotion, worried that he had ruined her wedding and that she would hate him.

Xiao Yao gave a bitter smile, a hint of fatigue flashing in her eyes: "Whether to hate or not, what difference does it make? Between him and me, there has always been an unsettled debt of emotion." She then asked Xiang Liu when he had learned of her wedding news. Xiang Liu replied that he had known even before she decided to leave Hao Ling.

Hearing this, Xiao Yao's emotions were stirred up. She questioned Xiang Liu, "You had more than enough time to prevent all this, so why did you choose to do it at the wedding, making me the target of everyone's resentment? You have made the Chishui clan, the Chen Rong clan, and me sworn enemies, and you have also damaged the reputation of Hao Ling, making me the laughingstock of the Great Wilderness. Why have you treated me this way?" Xiang Liu remained silent, a hint of unspeakable bitterness flashing in his eyes.

Seeing this, Xiao Yao was filled with disappointment and helplessness. She sighed softly, "Nevermind, perhaps this is my destiny, to be tossed about in the wind and rain." She felt more tired than ever before and said to Xiang Liu, "I'm tired, you can go."

Xiang Liu silently nodded and turned to leave, leaving Xiao Yao alone on the spot, her tears flowing silently. Not long after, the unexpected happened - the old Xi Yan Wang stepped forward and broke off Xiao Yao's engagement to Chi Shui Feng Long.

This news gave Xiao Yao a sense of relief, but also left her feeling confused about the future. Upon hearing this, Xi Yan Qiang Xuan immediately sent people to search for Xiao Yao's whereabouts. Within Hao Ling, the ministers were filled with hostility towards Fangfengwei (Xiang Liu's alias), fearing that his presence would pose a threat to Hao Ling. Some even suggested that Hao Ling Wang execute him.

However, Hao Ling Wang held Fangfengwei in high regard and, instead of heeding the ministers' advice, he even conceived the idea of having Fangfengwei marry Xiao Yao.

This decision once again placed Xiao Yao in a dilemma. Xiao Yao looked at Xiang Liu with concern and asked in a soft voice, "Fang Feng Bai has committed such a grave mistake, how will he face the future?"

Xiang Liu's reply was decisive and cold: "He must atone for his crimes with his own life."

Hearing this, Xiao Yao's heart was torn apart. Struggling to hold back her tears, she said angrily, "Xiang Liu and Fang Feng Bai, you two are so different. If he really takes that step one day, I will not shed a single tear for him."

Although Xiang Liu was deeply troubled, he maintained a calm and detached exterior.

Between the two, there was only a door separating them, yet it felt like an insurmountable distance, each immersed in endless sorrow.

On the other side, Jing Ye carried a bowl of medicine and entered Tu Shan Jing's residence, seeing that his injuries had not yet healed but he was still busy with official duties. She couldn't help but worry and persuade him, "Young Master, your health is the priority. Please have the medicine first."

Tu Shan Jing politely declined, saying he would drink it later. Seeing his determination, Jing Ye became anxious and snatched the letter from his hand, inadvertently catching a glimpse of the words "Rebellion of Cheng Rong." She was shocked and couldn't help but worry about Tu Shan Jing's safety, urging him not to get involved in this matter to avoid further trouble.

However, Tu Shan Jing remained steadfast, stating that he must personally handle this matter to ensure everything goes smoothly. Jing Ye didn't understand his reasoning, but he only smiled and did not elaborate further.

As for Xiao Yao, she had returned to Qing Shui Town, but the warmth and liveliness of the past were no longer there, replaced by a sense of desolation and loneliness.

Unwilling to go out, she only wished to drown her sorrows in alcohol with Xiang Liu. Seeing this, Xiang Liu took pity on her and used his magic to try to uncover her true feelings. He asked her if she was willing to marry Chi Shui Feng Long, to which Xiao Yao shook her head in refusal. Then he asked if she was willing to marry Ye Shi Qi (Tu Shan Jing), and she nodded in agreement.

When Xiang Liu further inquired about whom she truly wanted to spend her life with, Xiao Yao fell silent, her head pounding, unable to respond. Seeing this, Xiang Liu quickly withdrew his magic, tightly embracing the unconscious Xiao Yao and gently comforting her, "Just sleep well, and everything will be forgotten when you wake up."

The next morning, Xiao Yao was strolling on the streets when she accidentally encountered her old friend, Sweet. Although she recognized Sweet, Xiao Yao did not dare reveal herself, only listening quietly. From Sweet's words, Xiao Yao learned that her old friends, Lao Mu, Ma Zi, and Chun Tao, had all passed away, which saddened her deeply. Sweet also mentioned that before Lao Mu's death, Ye Shi Qi had come to visit him and helped him fulfill his last wish, allowing him to pass away with a smile.

Moreover, Ye Shi Qi frequently returned to visit them, just like family. These words warmed Xiao Yao's heart and further confirmed her belief in Ye Shi Qi's deep affection.

Li Rong Chao urgently reported Xiao Yao's disappearance, but Tu Shan Jing remained unusually calm, only asking about Feng Long's situation. He gave gifts to accompany Feng Long, refusing to search for Xiao Yao himself. Previously, Tu Shan Jing had taken advantage of Xiao Yao's kind-heartedness, but now he was returning the choice to her. With the little fox by her side, Tu Shan Jing kept Xiao Yao in his thoughts, praying for her safety.
