Episode 6 recap: Xiao Yao left the wedding ceremony with Xiang Liu.
Just as Xiao Yao's wedding to Chi Shui Feng Long reached its most critical moment, Tu Shan Jing was hiding in the shadows, with tears silently sliding down his face, his heart feeling as if it was being twisted by a knife. Just as the bride and groom were about to ascend the ceremonial stage, a hurried sound of footsteps broke the tranquility of the scene. Xiang Liu rushed in like a sudden storm and directly requested Xiao Yao to abandon the wedding.
Xiao Yao's gaze flashed with a hint of struggle, but she ultimately shook her head firmly and demanded that Xiang Liu leave immediately. Xiang Liu did not give up, and with a heavy tone, he reminded Xiao Yao of the solemn vow they had once made. These words struck Xiao Yao like a thunderbolt from a clear sky, causing her face to turn pale, and she painfully closed her eyes, as if transported back to the moment when that vow became a reality.
Seeing this, Xiang Liu pleaded with her once again to leave with him, promising to protect her from all harm. However, Xiao Yao questioned Xiang Liu, asking why he had to intervene in her life in such an almost insulting manner, leaving her in a dilemma. Xiang Liu remained silent, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.
He was well aware that his actions might bring irreparable harm to Xiao Yao, but he could not bear to watch her enter what he considered to be a wrongful marriage. Ultimately, Xiang Liu firmly demanded once more that Xiao Yao go with him, his tone conveying an unwavering determination. After a fierce inner struggle, Xiao Yao finally made her decision.
With a heavy heart, she apologized to Chi Shui Feng Long and resolutely chose to follow Xiang Liu. Chi Shui Feng Long's face was filled with disappointment and sorrow, but he held back his tears and gestured to his subordinates to let them depart.
The news spread rapidly across the continent. In the west, Qiang Xuan secretly rejoiced, while Chen Rong Xin Yue was furious, unable to comprehend how someone could be so bold as to disrupt a meticulously planned wedding. Xiang Liu gazed at Xiao Yao, his eyes filled with complex emotions, worried that he had ruined her wedding and that she would hate him.
Xiao Yao gave a bitter smile, a hint of fatigue in her eyes: "Whether I hate or not, what difference does it make? Between him and I, there is an unresolved debt of the heart." She then asked Xiang Liu when he had learned of her wedding. Xiang Liu replied that he had known even before she decided to leave Hao Ling. Upon hearing this, Xiao Yao became emotionally agitated, questioning Xiang Liu, "You had plenty of time to prevent all this, so why did you choose to intervene at the wedding, making me the target of everyone's criticism? You have made the Qiang Xuan clan, the Chen Rong Xin Yue clan, and I irreconcilable enemies, and you have also tarnished the reputation of Hao Ling, making me a laughingstock in the Vast Wilderness. Why have you treated me this way?"
Xiang Liu remained silent, a hint of indescribable bitterness flickering in his eyes. Seeing this, Xiao Yao was filled with disappointment and helplessness, sighing softly, "Well, perhaps this is my destiny, to be tossed about in the wind and rain." She felt more exhausted than ever before and told Xiang Liu, "I'm tired, you can go."
Xiang Liu silently nodded and turned to leave, leaving Xiao Yao behind, with tears silently falling. Soon after, the unexpected happened - the old Xi Yan Wang stepped forward and released Xiao Yao from her marriage to Chi Shui Feng Long.
This news brought Xiao Yao a sense of relief, but it also left her feeling uncertain about the future. Upon learning of this, Xi Yan Qiang Xuan immediately sent people to search for Xiao Yao's whereabouts. Within Hao Ling, the ministers were filled with hostility towards Pang Feng Bai (Xiang Liu's alias), fearing that his presence could pose a threat to Hao Ling, and some even proposed that Hao Ling Wang execute him.
However, Hao Ling Wang held Pang Feng Bai in high regard and, rather than heeding the ministers' suggestions, he began to consider the idea of allowing Pang Feng Bai to marry Xiao Yao.
This decision once again placed Xiao Yao in a dilemma. Xiao Yao looked worriedly at Xiang Liu and softly asked, "Fang Feng Bei has committed such a grave mistake, how should he face the future?"
Xiang Liu's reply was resolute and cruel: "He must atone for his crimes with his life."
Upon hearing this, Xiao Yao's heart was torn. Holding back her tears, she angrily said, "Xiang Liu and Fang Feng Bei, you two are so different. When that day comes, I will not shed a single tear for him."
Xiang Liu, though inwardly turbulent, maintained a calm and aloof exterior.
Between the two, separated only by a door, it was as if they were divided by mountains and rivers, each immersed in endless sorrow.
On the other side, Jing Ye entered Tu Shan Jing's residence, holding a bowl of medicine. Seeing that his wounds had not yet healed but he was still busy with official duties, she couldn't help but worriedly urge him, "Young Master, your health is most important. Please have the medicine first."
Tu Shan Jing politely declined with a smile, saying he would drink it later. Seeing his firm insistence, Jing Ye grew anxious and snatched the letter from his hand. Inadvertently, she glimpsed the words "Cheng Rong Bandits". Shocked, she couldn't help but worry about Tu Shan Jing's safety and advised him not to get involved, lest he bring trouble upon himself.
However, Tu Shan Jing remained resolute, stating that he must handle this matter personally to ensure the utmost safety. Jing Ye did not understand his reasons and continued to inquire, but Tu Shan Jing only gave a faint smile without further explanation.
As for Xiao Yao, although she had returned to Qingshui Town, the warmth and liveliness of the past no longer existed, replaced by a desolate and lonely atmosphere.
Unwilling to go out, she only wished to drown her sorrows in alcohol with Xiang Liu. Seeing this, Xiang Liu took pity on her and used his magic to try to understand her true feelings. He asked if she was willing to marry Chi Shui Feng Long, and she shook her head in refusal. When he asked if she was willing to marry Ye Shi Qi (Tu Shan Jing), she nodded in agreement.
But when Xiang Liu further inquired about whom she most wished to spend her life with, Xiao Yao fell silent, her head aching to the point of fainting. Xiang Liu quickly withdrew his magic and gently embraced the unconscious Xiao Yao, comforting her, "Just sleep well, and when you wake up, you will have forgotten everything."
The next morning, Xiao Yao was strolling through the streets when she unexpectedly encountered her old friend, Sweet. Although she recognized Sweet, Xiao Yao did not dare to reveal herself, silently listening. From Sweet's words, Xiao Yao learned that her old friends Lao Mu, Ma Zi, and Chun Tao had all passed away, which saddened her deeply. Sweet also mentioned that before Lao Mu's death, Ye Shi Qi had returned to fulfill his final wish, allowing him to pass away with a smile.
Additionally, Ye Shi Qi often came back to visit them, treating them like family. These words filled Xiao Yao's heart with warmth and further confirmed her belief in Ye Shi Qi's deep affection.
Li Rong Chang urgently reported Xiao Yao's disappearance, but Tu Shan Jing remained unusually calm, only asking about the situation of Feng Long. He gave Li Rong Chang gifts to accompany Feng Long, refusing to search for Xiao Yao himself. Previously, Tu Shan Jing had taken advantage of Xiao Yao's kind-heartedness, but now he gave her the freedom to choose. With the little fox by his side, Tu Shan Jing kept Xiao Yao in his thoughts, praying for her safety.
