Episode 2 recap: Huang Lin Xi's Persistent Pursuit of Zhang Hai Chao
In Episode 2, Huang Lin Xi is really head over heels for Zhang Hai Chao! Tsinghua University and UC Berkeley are having a navigation system competition, and Zhang Hai Chao and his team are eager to compete, but they're worried about how advanced Berkeley's system might be. Huang Lin Xi says she'll go check it out, even though she doesn't know much about English or computers. She tells them that if she's successful, they have to buy all the contact lenses she sells.
Huang Lin Xi takes the Berkeley team out for a meal and shows them around, trying to get information about their navigation system's processing speed. On the day of the competition, Huang Lin Xi comes to cheer on Zhang Hai Chao, thinking he's really handsome. The competition is tense, but in the end Berkeley wins. Huang Lin Xi is devastated to learn that Huang Zhong Kai had deliberately exaggerated their system's speed.
During the competition, Zhang Hai Chao injures his eye. Huang Lin Xi accompanies him to the hospital and even initiates a kiss, leaving him flustered. Later, when Zhang Hai Chao is struggling to find a job, Huang Lin Xi recommends him to Xue A Tu's construction company. Although it's not a perfect fit, Xue A Tu is impressed by Zhang Hai Chao's navigation system and decides to pursue that business.
Huang Lin Xi tries to get Zhang Hai Chao lucrative advertising deals, but he harshly scolds her, remembering how she used to sell him subpar contact lenses. After that, Huang Lin Xi starts constantly following and doting on Zhang Hai Chao, but he keeps avoiding her. She asks Li Dong Sheng for help, and he suggests she use her own charm to attract Zhang Hai Chao.
Huang Lin Xi lures Zhang Hai Chao to a lake where she's swimming, and he ends up falling in and injuring his neck. She stays by his side to care for him. Li Dong Sheng and the others try to convince Zhang Hai Chao to give Huang Lin Xi a chance, but he remains unwilling.
