Episode 6 recap: Huang Zhong Kai Persuades Zhang Hai Chao to Join Teng Fei
In episode 6, Huang Lin Xi rushed to find Zhang Hai Chao as soon as she finished her exams. When she arrived, she saw Liu Han looking dejected. She asked the reason, but Liu Han felt embarrassed and quickly left. Later, Zhang Hai Chao returned home, and Huang Lin Xi told him about Liu Han's strange behavior.
Zhang Hai Chao talked to Liu Han and learned that he wanted to switch jobs to Huang Zhong Kai's Teng Fei company because the pay was better there. However, Zhang Hai Chao felt that Liu Han should not fall for Huang Zhong Kai's scheme. Liu Han explained that his father was sick and urgently needed money.
Zhang Hai Chao went to confront Huang Zhong Kai, who then took him to a special place - the site where Huang's uncle had committed suicide. Huang Zhong Kai also shared the hardships their family faced in the United States, and how his grandfather eventually succeeded in business and bought this building to commemorate his uncle.
Huang Zhong Kai urged Zhang Hai Chao to collaborate with him to stand up for the Chinese people. But Zhang Hai Chao wanted to start a business with Li Dong Sheng, so he declined.
Huang Lin Xi also tried to persuade Liu Han not to switch jobs, but Liu Han felt that Huang Zhong Kai had an entrepreneurial spirit and had even helped his father contact a hospital abroad for a kidney transplant. So Liu Han decided to join Teng Fei.
Mr. Zhou told Li Dong Sheng that their investment agreement had a clause giving the investors the right to buy and sell shares. However, Li Dong Sheng believed that Zhang Hai Chao would not leave him.
Huang Zhong Kai continued to persuade Zhang Hai Chao, outlining the promising future of Teng Fei and providing a career plan for him. Huang Lin Xi waited for Zhang Hai Chao for six hours, and Gao Jian thought he had been convinced, but Li Dong Sheng remained skeptical.
Ou Yang Zi Xia discovered that Wu Xiao was an investor bought by Huang Zhong Kai, and she quickly told Li Dong Sheng, who already knew. Ou Yang Zi Xia then realized that Zhang Hai Chao had been poached when she saw him in the company's lab.
Huang Lin Xi and Li Dong Sheng waited all night for Zhang Hai Chao, and he finally returned in the morning, saying he had decided to join Teng Fei.
Li Dong Sheng was so angry that he moved out. Ou Yang Zi Xia persuaded him to go work as a salesman at Huang Zhong Kai's company, but he firmly refused to go.
Huang Lin Xi was very disappointed in Zhang Hai Chao. Zhang Hai Chao only wanted to focus on R&D, while Huang Zhong Kai could give him the best lab. Huang Lin Xi got angry and left with Li Dong Sheng.
Zhang Hai Chao joined the Tengfei company and started to make a big splash. Li Dong Sheng was not to be outdone either, and formed a R&D team to develop a stock trading software.
By 2001, Tengfei company went public, Huang Zhong Kai became a California assemblyman, dedicated to protecting the Chinese community.
He took Zhang Hai Chao to a banquet, and many bosses of delegations showed great interest in him. Xue A Tu also came and introduced Zhang Hai Chao. Ou Yang Zi Xia's father also invited Zhang Hai Chao to dinner, wanting to match him with Ou Yang Zi Xia.
Xue A Tu also hosted a dinner for Huang Lin Xi and Zhang Hai Chao, but Huang Lin Xi was late. Zhang Hai Chao could only wait, and the bosses kept persuading him to go back to China to develop. He called Huang Lin Xi and found out the robotic arm she bought had no spare parts.
Huang Lin Xi came up with a good solution, taking Ye Cui to the junkyard to find the parts.
Xue A Tu hosted another dinner for Zhang Hai Chao and Huang Lin Xi, but Huang Lin Xi still didn't show up. Zhang Hai Chao could only wait, and the bosses persuaded him to go back to China again.
He called Huang Lin Xi and found out the robot she bought had problems.
