Episode 25 recap: Ye Ding Zhi's Descent into Madness and Collapse

In episode 25, Xiao Xie heard that his younger brother Xiao Jin was getting married. Xiao Xie initially did not plan to attend, but when he heard that Ye Ding Zhi was going to try to crash the wedding, he became anxious, as Ye Ding Zhi was no easy opponent. Xiao Xie brought Bai Li Dong Jun and Si Kong Chang Feng with him, making for a grand scene.

Xiao Xie wanted to join in the commotion, but his subordinates advised him to just observe the situation calmly.

Meanwhile, Luo Qing Yang and Yi Bu were engaged in a fierce battle, both fighting for their lives. Si Kong Chang Feng and Bai Li Dong Jun also got into a confrontation. To everyone's surprise, Lei Meng Sha even brought Bai Li Dong Jun's father to join the fray, trying to convince Bai Li Dong Jun to go home, but Bai Li Dong Jun was determined to help Ye Ding Zhi. He took off his mask and started fighting with his own father.

When Ye Ding Zhi arrived at the Xiao family, he ran into Xiao Ruo Feng, who had been waiting for him. Yi Wen Jun had also prepared for the worst, saying she would rather die than marry Xiao Jin if Ye Ding Zhi did not show up.

Time ticked by, and the wedding ceremony began, but Ye Ding Zhi still had not arrived. A despairing Yi Wen Jun resigned herself to her fate.

Xiao Ruo Feng tried to persuade Ye Ding Zhi to have a drink and catch up, almost becoming sworn brothers, but Ye Ding Zhi was not about to back down. He had trained with the demonic immortal sword specifically for this moment. Xiao Ruo Feng told him that even the demonic immortal sword could not save him, but Ye Ding Zhi, coughing up blood, fought on with even greater ferocity.

On the other side, Bai Li Dong Jun was also defeated by his father, but neither side was willing to give up. Ye Ding Zhi had reached the point of no return and used a dangerous technique that would backfire on him, determined to stake everything on one final gambit.

Despite his grievous injuries, he struggled to approach Yi Wen Jun, but ultimately collapsed. Yi Wen Jun had been waiting, unaware that Ye Ding Zhi had fallen for her.

Bai Li Dong Jun was also knocked unconscious, and his father refused to let Si Kong Chang Feng intervene, saying they could keep fighting for ten more years and still not win.

Luo Qing Yang was also severely wounded, and Yi Bu told him to recover first before continuing their battle. Xiao Ruo Feng, though injured, insisted on going to the wedding ceremony, not wanting Yi Wen Jun to see any cracks in the facade.

Xiao Jin eagerly awaited his bride, and Yi Wen Jun became the official wife, even preparing to take her own life, when she suddenly heard Ye Ding Zhi's voice. She knew Ye Ding Zhi had done his utmost, just falling short. Holding back her tears, she asked Xiao Ruo Feng if Ye Ding Zhi had come, and Xiao Ruo Feng quietly told her he would protect him.

The Emperor also learned of the situation and praised Xiao Ruo Feng highly.

Xiao Xie went to see the Emperor and deliberately said he did not attend the wedding to give face to his brother, embellishing the story to say it was Ye Ding Zhi and Bai Li Dong Jun's doing, and that Xiao Ruo Feng had resolved the situation. The Emperor knew of Yi Wen Jun and Ye Ding Zhi's past relationship, but since the Ye family had fallen, the marriage proceeded as planned.

After waking up, Ye Ding Zhi still wanted to try to abduct the bride, but Xiao Ruo Feng did not kill him, instead telling him he now had no way out. Xiao Ruo Feng sighed that being in the court, he was not truly in control of his own actions, and that he wished he could have helped the Ye family, but as the Prince of Langya, he had too many constraints. He promised to help the Ye family clear their name, giving Ye Ding Zhi a glimmer of hope.
