Episode 38 recap: Episode 38 picks up with Ye Xiao Fan still questioning Ye Ding Zhi's transformation
The group decides to join forces, and Bai Li Dong Jun suggests they have a drink together first Ye Ding Zhi watches from afar, filled with mixed emotions but knowing there's no turning back
The next day, the battle is about to begin. Ye Ding Zhi gives the order, and both sides prepare for war. Xie Xuan and Si Kong Chang Feng take up positions on high ground, ready to fight. Ye Ding Zhi's power is overwhelming, and almost no one can stand against him.
Bai Li Dong Jun and his group get caught in a magical maze, but Xie Xuan cuts through it with a single sword strike. Xie Xuan leads the way, while Si Kong Chang Feng ventures deep into the icy mountains alone. He pays respects to the fallen soldiers, then discovers a lone soul herb and lights it, revealing a ghostly vision in a mirror.
Si Kong Chang Feng uses his unique Thousand Falling Spear technique to fight through the mist against the Demon Cult members, showcasing his incredible skills. The mist soon dissipates, and the Demon Cult forces are defeated.
Meanwhile, Mo Qi Xuan leads the Demon Cult in a stand-off with Bai Li Dong Jun. Unexpectedly, the Dark River joins forces with Si Kong Chang Feng, realizing that the Demon Cult is a threat to them as well.
Xiao Ruo Jin anxiously awaits news from the palace. He receives good news from Wushuang City: the Demon Cult army is trapped, but Ye Ding Zhi has infiltrated Tianqi City, causing him to panic. He immediately deploys his forces to meet the threat.
Ye Ding Zhi easily defeats the city guards and declares his intention to see Yi Wen Jun. Despite everyone's pleas, it's clear he's lost to the darkness and cannot be reasoned with. They reminisce about their past dreams, filled with both nostalgia and the realization that they can no longer walk the same path. Finally, they stand on the rooftop, a clash inevitable.
Meanwhile, Yi Wen Jun unexpectedly encounters Luo Qing Yang, who informs her of Ye Ding Zhi's arrival. Yi Wen Jun is deeply affected by the news. Luo Qing Yang offers to take her to see Ye Ding Zhi, while Ji Ruo Feng secretly searches for a way to defeat him.
Bai Li Dong Jun raises his cup to drink alone, a heavy and tense atmosphere hanging in the air as they prepare for a battle that will decide their fate.
