Episode 22 recap: Grandpa Finally Finds Li Xiu Qin
In episode 22, Feifei heard Liu Qi Meng's voice and felt something was off. She suddenly stood up, her eyes wide open, and upon closer inspection, realized it was not her familiar older brother, but an old lady! Liu Xiu Ying then calmly explained that they had switched bodies.Feifei was stunned and skeptical at first, but Liu Xiu Ying provided the details of their secret oath-taking under the lanterns years ago, convincing Feifei that the kind-looking old lady was indeed her beloved older brother. The two friends laughed heartily, their bond deepening in this miraculous situation.
Feifei was furious when she heard about Wang Yi Ming wanting to divorce her. Liu Xiu Ying, assuring her she had tricks up her sleeve to deal with this "old man," accompanied Liu Qi Meng to the office, even carrying a gas canister, intending to inflate balloons, which left Wang Yi Ming perplexed and quickly asking them to remove the canister.
Liu Xiu Ying then made an entrance, introducing herself as Feifei's older brother, and advised Wang Yi Ming that if he wanted to keep Feifei's heart, he should plan a romantic surprise. Wang Yi Ming took the advice seriously and waited on a bridge wearing a giant bear costume, hoping to surprise Feifei.
However, Feifei saw through his plan and walked away. Panicked, Wang Yi Ming stopped her and poured out his heart. Moved by his sincerity and the engagement ring he had prepared to apologize, Feifei's heart softened, and their misunderstanding was resolved.
Liu Qi Meng and Liu Xiu Ying watched the couple make up, also smiling widely. On another note, Liu Qi Meng and Sun Kai retrieved the restored photos, overjoyed like children, and even took a commemorative photo at the photo studio.
When sending Liu Qi Meng home, the two were reluctant to part, about to get intimate, but were interrupted by the teasing voices of Afang and Liu Xiu Ying upstairs, leaving Liu Qi Meng embarrassed and hurrying inside. But Liu Qi Meng was worried about Grandpa's health, so she decided to wait until after Grandma's competition to go see him. The day of the dance competition finals finally arrived, and the old ladies were all nervous, worried about embarrassing the team with a poor performance. Liu Qi Meng, however, was busy helping Liu Xiu Ying with makeup and dressing, wanting Grandma to look her best on stage.
Sunkai also helped Grandpa change into the army uniform he wore back in the day and took him to watch Liu Xiu Ying's performance. Liu Qi Meng had also personally made team badges for everyone to wear, which made them feel more united and empowered. Before taking the stage, Liu Xiu Ying pumped up the team, saying they needed to display the spirit of 50,000 people, invigorating everyone.
