Episode 10 recap: Xie Shi and Xu Mu Mutually Misunderstood Each Other's Love Interests and Terminated Their Relationship Contract
In episode 10, Liao's team was busy wrapping up their work. Xie Shi happened to bring Nanjiao in, and saw Xu Mu helping Zhang Yao dust off. That scene made Xie Shi feel uncomfortable, and he left abruptly. Later, Xu Mu saw the two of them together again, and felt conflicted.On the weekend camping trip, Song Nian Nian and Shen Yi were sweet and lovey-dovey, like a real couple.
Xie Shi and Xu Mu's dynamic became more delicate with Qiao Nan's presence. During the barbecue at night, Qiao Nan kept hovering around Xie Shi, which made Xu Mu feel uneasy, but she couldn't privately comfort him.
When discussing Qiao Nan's study abroad plans, Xie Shi stopped her from drinking, but when it was Xu Mu's turn, he didn't listen to Xie Shi's persuasion.
Xie Shi left and suddenly came back, saying he brought a blanket in case Xu Mu was cold - a warm gesture, but Xu Mu felt conflicted about it. After the gathering, Nian Nian asked Xu Mu if she was going back to Xie Shi's place, which Qiao Nan overheard and joked about them living together. Nian Nian had to smooth it over, as Shen Yi was already drunk, and Xu Mu ended up going back with Nian Nian.
Nian Nian noticed Xu Mu had something on her mind, and Xu Mu confessed that she had mistakenly thought Xie Shi and Qiao Nan had a past relationship, even possibly being ex-lovers. Nian Nian felt Xu Mu might have feelings for Xie Shi, but Xu Mu was unsure herself.
Just as they were about to leave, Xu Mu received a call from Xie Shi, saying he couldn't go with them, and mentioning Qiao Nan - which made Xu Mu feel even more uneasy.
At that moment, Zhang Yao showed up, bringing medicine and discussing art. Before their conversation could go further, an earthquake hit, and they had to quickly take shelter in the restroom. Xie Shi heard the news on the radio, tried to call Xu Mu but couldn't reach her, and rushed to the hotel.
Downstairs, Xie Shi's colleagues had gathered. He found out Xu Mu's location and hurried upstairs, but on the way, he encountered Qiao Nan who had sprained her ankle, so he had to help her first.
Xu Mu witnessed this scene, and the misunderstanding deepened. She decided to end their "fake relationship" contract. Xie Shi mistakenly thought Xu Mu was interested in Zhang Yao, so he agreed. The two then went their separate ways.
Xu Mu packed her bags and left Xie Shi's place, feeling reluctant to part with the little cat, but understanding she had to let go. She confided in Nian Nian, and also told her family about the breakup, appearing calm on the surface but unable to conceal her sadness.
In contrast, Nian Nian and Shen Yi's relationship was growing stronger, and Shen Yi was looking forward to their future. Zhang Yao invited Xu Mu to watch a movie, booking the whole theater, trying to gauge her views on love, but Xu Mu just smiled without saying much, her mind filled with countless thoughts.
