Episode 5 recap: Xu Mu and Shen Yi's Activities Showcase Their Growing Rapport as a Couple
In Episode 5, Xu Mu tells Song Nian Nian that with Xie Shi acting as a shield, her mother no longer brings up the topic of arranged blind dates. On Shen Yi's side, he is surprised to learn that Xie Shi is actually in a relationship and living with Xu Mu. Shen Yi is quite curious about the development of their relationship, and complains that his credit card was suspended by his father.
Coincidentally, the four of them run into each other while checking out. Shen Yi and Song Nian Nian are griping, only to realize that the people they were about to pay are standing right there, creating an awkward atmosphere. Xie Shi graciously pays the bill for Xu Mu. On the way home, the property manager comes to have Shen Yi sign something, and Xu Mu is still confused, but Xie Shi introduces her as his girlfriend.
Xie Shi also adds Xu Mu to the residents' WeChat group, where everyone assumes she is Xie Shi's wife, sparking much discussion. Xu Mu wants to explain, but is worried it will only make things more confusing.
The group compliments Xie Shi's good looks, and Xu Mu accidentally responds "My husband is handsome." She's embarrassed by her own words. Over the weekend, Xie Shi says his friends are coming over, and Xu Mu initially wants to hide, but as his "girlfriend" she reluctantly agrees to join.
When the friends arrive, Xu Mu is extremely nervous, nearly calling Xie Shi "husband" during the greetings, much to the amusement of the friends.
Xie Shi is a skilled cook and prepares a delicious meal. While drinking, he protects Xu Mu from over-imbibing and recounts the fun story of when she got drunk before, making the friends envious of their strong relationship.
Song Nian Nian invites Xu Mu to hang out over the weekend, but Xu Mu is hesitant since everyone at the company knows about her and Xie Shi. Xie Shi comes up with a plan, and also brings Shen Yi along. He had already prepared snacks and motion sickness medicine, quite thoughtfully.
On the trip, everyone except Xie Shi ends up sleeping. At the destination, they find it's a room with a large bed, and Shen Yi suggests Xu Mu and Xie Shi share, but they firmly decline. During the activities, they wear couple outfits, and Xie Shi dotes on Xu Mu. In the games, Xu Mu and Xie Shi display amazing coordination, winning first place, and Xu Mu excitedly hugs Xie Shi. In the group photos, they appear especially sweet together.
At night, while Song Nian Nian falls asleep quickly, the restless Shen Yi ends up bothering Xie Shi. Xu Mu and Xie Shi can't sleep, so Xie Shi accompanies Xu Mu to buy bread. As a reward for their victory, they get a luxurious breakfast the next morning.
During breakfast, some men start harassing Xu Mu and Shen Yi, but Xie Shi and Shen Yi quickly intervene to protect them. After the meal, they go play by the sea, and by the time they return home late at night, everyone is exhausted. When Xu Mu gets up at night, she accidentally goes to the wrong room before quickly returning to her own.
This day's experiences seem to have brought Xu Mu and Xie Shi's relationship even closer.
