Episode 22 recap: Li Guo Duo and Tu Ling Ling Reconcile, Shao Nian's Romance Faces Obstacles
In Episode 22, Gao Ge felt a sense of loss in his youthful days, as if his dream had been tainted with a bit of sand. When he talked to Chen Wei Lan about the national youth team, it was so pure back then. But now it had become a sore spot. Coach Zhang was determined to recruit Chen Wei Lan into the national youth team, and Gao Ge's heart sank - he didn't want their comradeship to fall apart.
Coach Zhang's stance was unwavering. Even when Chen Wei Lan said she had found a new passion in beach volleyball at university, he wouldn't budge, insisting that indoor volleyball was where Chen Wei Lan could truly shine. Back and forth, Coach Zhang's enthusiasm kept growing, while Chen Wei Lan was torn between the two.
Gao Ge grew anxious and asked Li Guo Duo for help, but she seemed indifferent, not showing much interest in keeping Chen Wei Lan. Gao Ge felt she wasn't doing enough to consider the "bigger picture" of the beach volleyball team. However, Xia Li Qiang took a more open view, saying joining the national youth team would be a great honor and good for Chen Wei Lan's future.
On the other side, the Ocean University was celebrating. Seizing the opportunity, Tu Ling Ling gathered the courage to invite Li Guo Duo to karaoke, hoping to express her gratitude and affection. Li Guo Duo readily agreed and brought Shao Nian along, but that's where the troubles began.
At the barbecue restaurant, Dr. Chen and Wang Xiu Yun got into a heated argument over a small matter, as both had strong personalities. Back at the karaoke, Long Ya tried to create a rift between Li Guo Duo and Tu Ling Ling, but when Li Guo Duo arrived, the misunderstanding was cleared. However, Long Ya's mischief inadvertently exposed Shao Nian and Tu Ling Ling's little secret, leaving Li Guo Duo feeling uneasy, and she left early.
Shao Nian chased after her to explain, but Dr. Sun emerged to interfere, revealing that the Shao family opposed their relationship. Seeing this, Tu Ling Ling quickly stepped in to clear things up, leaving Li Guo Duo's mind in a whirl.
Chen Wei Lan was also troubled, torn between Gao Ge's misunderstanding, Li Guo Duo's help, and the invitation to join the national youth team. She knew it was a recognition of her talents, but it also meant leaving her warm little community. The choice she made would not only shape her future, but also test her emotions.
