Episode 15 recap: Longshen Goes to the Imperial Study to Cultivate Her Morality

In episode 15, when King Datang insisted on asking questions, Longshen truthfully told him the rumor that the Second Prince is the former emperor and the Second Princess Consort is the former empress. The king immediately changed his expression, and Lu Hou hurriedly knelt down to explain. Longshen mentioned that the Second Princess Consort found a sacred stone in the palace, and was worried someone might spread rumors about it.

Then Lu Jing appeared, and the king asked about his injuries, but Lu Jing denied being injured. Lu Hou didn't believe him and tried to prove Lu Jing was injured, but Lu Jing grabbed his wrist, causing him intense pain. This made it seem like the injured one was actually Lu Hou, not Lu Jing. The king then asked Lu Jing's opinion on the rumors, and Lu Jing expressed his suspicions, with Lu Guan also backing him up.

The king then ordered that anyone spreading rumors in the palace would be severely punished. Lu Jing had Longshen deliver a painting as a gift to Lu Guan, thanking her for warning Lu Jing about the palace rumors and speaking up for Longshen in the imperial garden. However, Lu Jing was concerned it might happen again, so he asked Lu Guan to let Longshen work at the Imperial Study to improve her writing skills.

Lu Jing had his attendants summon Longshen to appreciate a painting made by Lu Guan, as a pretext to let Longshen get to know the Princess. Longshen was very impressed by Lu Guan's excellent abilities, and immediately agreed to visit the Princess the next day.

Meanwhile, the inebriated Lu Hou returned home and complained to Liu Yi Yi about the sacred stone she had dug up, which put him in a bad light before the emperor. Liu Yi Yi directly threw a tantrum, and Lu Hou didn't dare say anything more, quickly comforting her instead.

When Longshen was selecting a gift for her meeting with the Princess, she had trouble deciding, and ended up choosing ink brushes, which was also what Lu Jing had picked. The Princess needed someone capable to go to the Imperial Study to repair some medical texts, but the seasoned doctors all tried to avoid the task. Finally, Xiao Zilu was convinced to go repair the texts at the Imperial Study.

When Longshen arrived at the Imperial Study, she met the Princess's personal maid Ling Zhi, and ended up getting dressed in the Study's uniform, then sitting down to start repairing the books, even though she had no prior experience. The Princess came and criticized her for not knowing how to repair books, saying she shouldn't be there. This spurred Longshen to start working diligently.

Lu Guan explained that Longshen is naturally intelligent but lacks patience, so directly forcing her to write would be counterproductive. When Longshen submitted her repaired books, the Princess said they were still not up to standard and needed to be completely redone.

As a new Imperial Study worker, Longshen was assigned cleaning duties by Lu Guan. Xiao Zilu thought Lu Guan was intentionally making things difficult for Longshen, and spoke up for her, but Lu Guan didn't think it was a big deal. Longshen didn't want the issue to escalate, so she quietly went back to rewriting the books.

That night, Lu Jing came to pick Longshen up and helped her with the copying work, then they returned home together. The next day, Xiao Zilu realized he had been too rash the previous day, and apologized to Lu Guan. Over the past few days, Longshen had been working from early morning to late at night, leaving her exhausted. Lu Jing's attendants thought she needed some comforting, and informed Lu Jing, who then went to her room and unexpectedly kissed her.
