Episode 10 recap: Tu Xiao Ning Caught at Ji Yu Heng's House by Her Coworker
In episode 10, Ji Yu Heng and Tu Xiao Ning are a diligent work pair, but they are like a sweet little couple in private. Ji Yu Heng always loves to prepare little surprises for Tu Xiao Ning, such as secretly leaving snacks for her and holding hands as they stroll through the mall at night. Tu Xiao Ning is about to take her final exam to become a full-time employee, and she's quite anxious, hoping to get a good score.
One day, Rao Jing suddenly announces that it's Ji Yu Heng's birthday, and everyone wants to celebrate. Tu Xiao Ning is caught off guard and accidentally burns her hand. Ji Yu Heng is quick to find an excuse to come and tend to her wound, being incredibly gentle.
Tu Xiao Ning feels a little emotional, thinking that Ji Yu Heng didn't tell her about his birthday in advance, and she's practically going to be his wife, but he didn't even share this important day with her.
Ji Yu Heng quickly soothes her, saying they can go home and bake a cake together to celebrate. As they're shopping for the ingredients, Zhao Fang Gang calls, saying he's already at the supermarket to celebrate Ji Yu Heng's birthday. Hearing this, Tu Xiao Ning quickly hides, and Ji Yu Heng tries his best to stall for time outside.
Zhao Fang Gang is overly enthusiastic and wants to come to Ji Yu Heng's house to celebrate, leaving Ji Yu Heng quite flustered. Tu Xiao Ning is frantically tidying up at home, afraid of being discovered. Ji Yu Heng is making all sorts of excuses at the supermarket, as both sides are rushing against time.
Finally, Zhao Fang Gang and the others arrive, and Ji Yu Heng welcomes them at the door, while Tu Xiao Ning hides in the room. Zhao Fang Gang finds long hair in the bathroom and jokingly says Ji Yu Heng is hiding a girlfriend, but Ji Yu Heng quickly smoothes it over, and Rao Jing also helps defuse the situation.
Zhao Fang Gang suggests inviting more friends, but Ji Yu Heng politely declines. Tu Xiao Ning is almost suffocating in the room, her legs numb. Ji Yu Heng takes the opportunity to slip into the room, and the two exchange a glance, with Tu Xiao Ning shyly lowering her head.
She then quietly slips out, pretending to just have arrived, successfully deceiving Zhao Fang Gang.
In the evening, everyone enjoys hot pot together, and the atmosphere is quite good. The coworkers apologize to Ji Yu Heng, and Zhao Fang Gang and Rao Jing continue to bicker as usual. Zhao Fang Gang also gossips about Tu Xiao Ning, and another coworker reveals that Ji Yu Heng will be getting a new colleague.
The gift accidentally gets discovered, and Ji Yu Heng graciously shares that it's for Tu Xiao Ning.
After the gathering, Tu Xiao Ning feels uneasy, thinking Ji Yu Heng has a "white moonlight" (a hidden love interest). She confides in Ling Wei Yi, who has reconciled with Qi Yu, and was even captivated by Qi Yu's abs while he was changing a light bulb.
Qi Yu still keeps his old belongings, and Ling Wei Yi wants him to move closer, but Qi Yu refuses because he wants to take the civil service exam.
When Tu Xiao Ning returns home, she sees Ji Yu Heng washing the dishes and asks why he didn't tell her about his birthday. Ji Yu Heng says that since his mother's illness, he hasn't celebrated his birthday anymore.
Tu Xiao Ning feels even more frustrated, thinking Ji Yu Heng has someone else in his heart. Ji Yu Heng then passionately declares that Tu Xiao Ning is his best gift.
The next day, the new colleague Tang Yu Hui, who is Ji Yu Heng's junior, makes her debut, and the office is lively again. As Tang Yu Hui comes from a good family, everyone speculates that she might be Ji Yu Heng's "white moonlight," and Tu Xiao Ning quietly leaves, feeling even more uneasy.
