Episode 6 recap: Conflicts Arise Between Tu Xiao Ning and Ji Yu Heng
In episode 6, Zhao Fang Gang and Rao Jing are at the office when they notice the new driver Qi Yu, who turns out to be an old friend of Ling Wei Yi's. The two women whisper about it on the staircase, but are caught by Zhao Fang Gang's group, who mistakenly think they are having an office romance, leading to some comical misunderstandings.
Just then, Ji Yu Heng happens to pass by, feeling a mix of emotions as he starts to take an interest in Qi Yu and Ling Wei Yi's past.
Lately, Ji Yu Heng has become known in the office for being "ruthlessly impartial," not even sparing his own subordinates. In reality, he's been forced into this stance because his team keeps making mistakes - he has to be strict in order to keep things on track. While the pressure is high, Zhao Fang Gang actually agrees that Ji Yu Heng is doing the right thing, and advises everyone to just endure it and focus on their work.
Noticing that Ji Yu Heng is having trouble changing the bandages on his injured hand, Tu Xiao Ning proactively offers to help him do it on the rooftop. As she tends to his wound, Tu Xiao Ning gently tells Ji Yu Heng that he needs to find a balance in managing people - being too harsh will only breed resentment. She uses the situation with Qi Yu and Ling Wei Yi as an example, trying to make Ji Yu Heng understand the nuances of interpersonal relationships.
Meanwhile, Ling Wei Yi runs into Qi Yu while buying a cake. Qi Yu is both buying a cake and apologizing, trying to reconcile their relationship. But Ling Wei Yi stands firm, saying the past is the past and she won't go back.
Zhao Fang Gang and Tu Xiao Ning are becoming increasingly in sync at work, with Zhao Fang Gang even enthusiastically helping Tu Xiao Ning with her plans for getting a permanent position. However, a misunderstanding arises - Zhao Fang Gang mistakenly thinks Qi Yu is Tu Xiao Ning's boyfriend, and Tu Xiao Ning doesn't know how to explain the situation.
Zhao Fang Gang is working tirelessly in his department, even helping Rao Jing make coffee as he shares how he provided evidence of a "blind date loan" to Ji Yu Heng. Hearing this, Rao Jing quickly urges Tu Xiao Ning to keep pace.
Just as everyone thinks things are heading in a positive direction, Tu Xiao Ning receives an unexpected call - from the party involved in the earlier dispute.
