Episode 10 recap: Jing Hao Ran and Yu Xing Bai Collaborate to Identify the Killer

In Episode 10, Yu Xing Bai, deeply concerned for his wife, embarked on another journey to Japan to search for the missing Yamaguchi Keiko. After extensive inquiries, he finally located Mr. Duncan, Yamaguchi Keiko's husband. Faced with Yu Xing Bai's earnest request, Duncan revealed that he and Yamaguchi Keiko were former university classmates.

At this moment, Duncan's son Evan walked in, his childlike voice hinting that his mother had been away from home for a long time. A subtle change in Duncan's expression was noticed by the perceptive Yu Xing Bai, who then observed a framed photograph of the couple on the wall.

Duncan proposed a private discussion later and disclosed that Keiko had returned home injured and in low spirits, but gradually improved. However, during a subsequent trip, Keiko seemed preoccupied. Duncan, in order to protect his family, chose to remain silent even after learning of his wife's involvement in a murder case, and when she quietly left, he was even sent to a psychiatric hospital.

Meanwhile, Wang Jing's persistent pursuit of the Xiao Jin Quan case puzzled her colleagues, but she insisted on resolving the matter to find peace of mind. During a conversation with Jacqueline, the daughter of Mr. Tan, Wang Jing was surprised by the latter's indifferent attitude, as if she had little grief over her father's passing. After Xiao Jin Quan's arrest, he steadfastly claimed to be only a thief, not involved in the murder, and that he had stolen the watch to pay for his daughter's treatment for macular degeneration.

Yu Xing Bai excluded Xiao Jin Quan as a suspect through a blood test comparison, and Jing Hao Ran even helped him pay the ransom. At the same time, Shu Ting, unable to attend her son's sports meet, went to verify a precious gem, only to discover it was fake. Preoccupied with this issue, she neglected her son's feelings, disappointing Aiven.

Realizing her failings as a mother, Shu Ting decided to make amends. Meanwhile, Jing Hao Ran and Yu Xing Bai, based on clues, surmised that the killer might be a patient with severe thalassemia, regularly visiting the hospital for blood transfusions, and they were able to narrow down the suspect's age range using scientific methods.

When the police focused their investigation on specific age groups of men, a lead emerged at Mrs. Zhang's residence. Mrs. Zhang claimed she had returned to the mainland and left her keys at home, while her daughter revealed that her boyfriend, Lu Jiajun, had visited. Considering the various evidence, Jing Hao Ran and Yu Xing Bai deduced that Lu Jiajun might be the real culprit, who had killed Mr. Tan and staged it as a suicide when he was discovered.

At this point, Lu Jiajun had already fled Hong Kong, prompting Yu Xing Bai to immediately apply for an arrest warrant. Though the case was convoluted, justice would ultimately prevail.
