Episode 16 recap: Li Zhang Huan's Family Reunion for the New Year
Li Zhang Huan's wife calls Li Zhi Wei, letting him know that Li Zhang Huan has returned home. She asks if Li Zhi Wei can come back for the New Year so they can have a family reunion. Li Zhi Wei says he probably can't make it, as he's already taken too much time off. His wife tells him not to worry about it and to just see what he can do. Li Zhi Wei doesn't seem as driven by work as he used to, and everyone is surprised by how much he's changed since his trip to Bama.
Li Zhi Wei returns home, and everyone is overjoyed to have him back. They're all excited to celebrate the New Year together as a family. Li Zhang Huan's wife tells him to go buy all of Li Zhi Wei's favorite foods so they can enjoy them together.
Li Zhi Wei reminisces about their childhood, saying that while other families received lucky money during the New Year, they had to pay it out. Li Zhang Huan would always say he was keeping their lucky money safe, but he actually used it to buy mushrooms. Li Zhang Huan's wife gives them all red envelopes.
Li Qian Ping mentions that he's dating someone, and Li Zhang Huan's wife excitedly tells him to bring his girlfriend home so they can meet her. Li Zhi Wei goes out to meet with his friends, and he's surprised to see how much they've all changed. Shu Fang tells them that she's been diagnosed with breast cancer, and Li Zhi Wei and his friends are shocked.
Shu Fang tells them not to worry about her and says that she had a crush on a boy she wanted to go see the blue tears with, but they never got around to it. Li Zhi Wei sends all of his belongings back home, and Li Qian Ping and the others find it strange. Li Zhi Wei returns and tells them about Shu Fang's illness, and Li Zhang Huan and his wife are also surprised.
Li Qian Ping brings someone home, and Yu Jiang learns that Li Zhang Huan grows mushrooms. He chats with Li Zhang Huan about it. Zhao Qi Feng also comes over, and Li Zhang Huan's wife is delighted to have two potential sons-in-law.
Li Zhang Huan notices that Li Zhi Wei and Zhao Qi Feng haven't officially become a couple yet, but Li Zhang Huan's wife says that it's fine as long as they help out. Li Zhang Huan mentions that Zhao Qi Feng is a diplomat and spends half the year traveling abroad. Li Zhang Huan's wife says she doesn't mind as long as Zhao Qi Feng is good to Li Zhi Wei.
Li Zhi Wei walked Zhao Qi Feng out, expressing his happiness that Zhao Qi Feng could come. Li Zhi Wei mentioned Shu Fang, saying that she didn't necessarily have to see the blue tears, but just wanted a pure love. He wanted to take Shu Fang to Pingtan to see the blue tears.
Zhao Qi Feng said he could go too. When Li Zhang Huan and the others found out about this, they decided to go to Pingtan together. Shu Fang saw Zhao Qi Feng and thought he was pretty good, telling Li Zhi Wei to seize the opportunity.
Unexpectedly, the wind was very strong in Pingtan, making it impossible to go out. The hotel also had a water and power outage. Li Zhi Wei felt embarrassed, thinking he had dragged Shu Fang out for nothing. Shu Fang was also feeling uncomfortable because of her illness and said she didn't want to get treatment anymore, that it would be better to just let go.
Li Chun Hua discovered that the Lin boss was growing mushrooms using wood, which shocked her. Martha was also there, and Li Chun Hua knew that she was the one who brought the workers to Lin boss. Lin boss said that competition is part of doing business, and that he was just competing with them by growing mushrooms using wood, each relying on their own skills. He said there was nothing wrong with that.
Li Chun Hua said that growing mushrooms using wood was an outdated method that would damage the environment, and that Lin boss had stolen their information. Lin boss denied stealing their information, saying he just wanted to make money, and that the environment was something he had to consider himself. He said his business was legal in Bamala.
Li Chun Hua was very angry but couldn't do anything about it. She told Martha that she would be stuck in her money forever and left in a huff.
