Episode 7 recap: Li Zhang Huan Decides to Stay
In episode 7, Zheng Wei Long realizes that the grass growing in the area is of poor quality, which could negatively impact the mushroom yield if used as a substrate. Li Zhang Huan feels they are running out of time, so he suggests adjusting the formula and starting to prepare the mushroom bags right away. The mushrooms they've grown so far have not developed well due to the poor quality of the grass.
Zheng Wei Long and the team are very anxious because representatives from the United Nations are coming to inspect the project the next day. Given the subpar quality of the oyster mushrooms they've cultivated, the UN inspectors indicate they may have to terminate the project.
As Wai's father sees them off, the group expresses doubts that the project could ever succeed. They argue, with Li Han saying they had only agreed to a 5-month commitment, and now that the project is being shut down, they should just go back home.
However, Li Zhang Huan disagrees. He reminds them that Zheng Wei Long had previously warned about the poor grass quality, but Li Zhang Huan was too eager to get started and just planted anyway. Li Zhang Huan feels he cannot give up and is determined to stay and try again.
Wai arrives and also hopes Li Zhang Huan's team will continue, believing they can find a way to make it work. Li Zhang Huan asserts that he was able to grow things even on the Ningxia Gobi desert, so he is confident he can succeed in the favorable Bama environment - he is resolved to stay.
Li Zhang Huan's wife tells Li Zhi Wei that the project is unfinished, and Li Zhang Huan has no intention of coming back, as he is truly committed to it. Li Zhi Wei says he will go there to persuade Li Zhang Huan to return.
Zhao Qi Feng receives a call that Li Zhi Wei's phone has been stolen, so he goes to the boss to help Li Zhi Wei buy a new phone.
Unexpectedly, Zhao Qi Feng sees his own phone there, and the boss says he had collected it from someone else. Li Zhi Wei wants to just take it, but the boss won't agree, so Li Zhi Wei has to pay for it.
Zhao Qi Feng takes Li Zhi Wei to his place, gives her some water, and makes her instant noodles. Li Zhi Wei sees people fighting on the street, and Zhao Qi Feng says the police presence is limited here, and the embassy only intervenes in matters involving Chinese citizens.
Zhao Qi Feng brings Li Zhi Wei over to where Li Zhang Huan is, and Li Zhi Wei comes to talk to Li Zhang Huan. Li Zhang Huan says he still wants to stay, but Li Zhi Wei thinks that since Li Zhang Huan has already failed, there's no point in staying.
Li Zhang Huan says his techniques are fine and he hasn't failed. Li Zhi Wei tells Li Zhang Huan he has to leave today, whether he wants to or not. Zheng Wei Long thinks Li Han must have told Li Zhi Wei about this, so he should go in and try to persuade them.
But Li Han refuses to go. Li Chun Hua also doesn't want to go, and while Zheng Wei Long wants to go in, Zhao Qi Feng thinks it's better to let the father and daughter talk it out themselves. Li Zhang Huan says since Li Zhi Wei has come, they should have a nice meal together.
They make dumplings, and Nora starts talking about her situation - her child's father is in prison for theft, and she's raising the child alone, realizing how much money is needed. Li Chun Hua now understands why Nora is always talking about money. Li Zhi Wei also sympathizes with Nora's troubles.
