Episode 11 recap: Lei Xu Rescues Jiang Xiao Jie from Suicide
Episode 11 opens with Jiang Xiao Jie walking along the beach, her steps heavy, her mind filled with turmoil. The online negativity surrounding her and Su Da is overwhelming, suffocating her. A message from Zhou Qiao arrives, brief but warm, like a beacon in the darkness, reminding her not to let the outside voices dictate her feelings. He anxiously awaits her reply, his worry evident.
Meanwhile, Su Da confronts Sun Yunxiao, his words laced with sarcasm and frustration over the constant negative headlines. Elsewhere, Zhang Yunyun and Zhou Qiao talk on the phone, both unable to find Jiang Xiao Jie. Zhang Yunyun's worry grows, fearing the worst.
An idea strikes Zhang Yunyun, and she contacts Du Zi Yu, mentioning an old shipyard Jiang Xiao Jie often visited. She hopes they can check it out. The shipyard sits close to the sea, and as Du Zi Yu and Lei Xu arrive, they see Jiang Xiao Jie walking towards the deep ocean, her back resolute.
Zhou Qiao, seeing this, tries to rush to her, but Du Zi Yu holds him back. In a crucial moment, Lei Xu jumps into the water without hesitation and pulls Jiang Xiao Jie back to shore. Despite everyone's concern, Jiang Xiao Jie refuses medical attention, sitting silently, her eyes filled with confusion.
Zhou Qiao tries to comfort her with his own experiences, telling her that even he didn't give up, and she shouldn't give up on life either. Du Zi Yu shares his own story of conflict and reconciliation with his mother, encouraging Jiang Xiao Jie to let go of the past and start anew. However, her stubbornness leads her to shut herself off. Only when Lei Xu confronts her with the stark reality of death does she finally break down, tears streaming down her face.
Lei Xu's words hit Jiang Xiao Jie like a hammer, waking her from her confusion. He tells her that life holds so much unknown and beauty waiting to be explored, and suicide is not the answer. Touched by his words, Jiang Xiao Jie is about to speak when Jiang Lin Hai and Li Xiao Yan arrive, their presence temporarily calming the storm within her.
On the way back, Lei Xu and Zhou Qiao share a car. Lei Xu senses something is being withheld by Zhou Qiao and directly asks about their relationship. Zhou Qiao is honest, revealing that Jiang Xiao Jie confides in him completely. Lei Xu probes deeper, and though Zhou Qiao claims ignorance, his words reveal a deep care for Jiang Xiao Jie.
Lei Xu worries about the consequences if something happens again, and Zhou Qiao, filled with emotion, states that if anything were to happen to Jiang Xiao Jie, he would have no reason to live. Lei Xu's questioning forces Zhou Qiao to reflect, and he finally reveals Jiang Xiao Jie's decision before the trial: she will testify against Su Da.
This news gives Lei Xu a new understanding of Jiang Xiao Jie's strength. Meanwhile, Su Da's poor performance leads his coach to recommend rest, but it's actually a punishment from Sun Yunxiao, a suspension with the implication of dismissal.
Facing Su Da's threats, Jiang Xiao Jie is alone and turns to Zhou Qiao for help. He rushes to the ZK team, only to find Su Da gone. The coach's misunderstanding adds to the awkwardness. When Sun Yunxiao suggests something, Zhou Qiao firmly refuses, his mind filled with worry and protectiveness for Jiang Xiao Jie.
This series of events intertwines the fates of these young people. They face life's storms together, supporting and encouraging each other, searching for their own bright futures.
